Morning Doves are obviously one of the birds that don't head for warm weather,
at the first sign of winter.
Most often they will visit in pairs, frequently two pairs at a time.
Well, the word must have gotten out, these Snowbirds aren't going anywhere this Winter, and they
have been scattering food all over their front deck.
We've never seen this many doves at a time. There're 17 in this pic and I couldn't get an additional 5 in the frame.
I overheard one of the doves say, "I'm glad the big guy keeps the deck free of snow." That made me feel good, showing a little #appreciation goes a long way!
Ya, I know, I got a little lazy this morning, but it's been snowing every single day. I am retired and this is starting to feel like that 4 letter curse word I no longer use. You know the one I've replaced with the word Hobbitizing.
Just shut up and eat. SORRY, I almost lost it there for a minute, I guess I could blame it on CABIN FEVER. All I want to do is get some dirt under my fingernails and #hivegarden in the sun, dressed in a bathing suit and white t-shirt, or better yet, nothing at all.
Ya, I see you,
it has to be tough to be dunking your head into the snow to get that
singular,
minuscule,
teeny-weeny,
itsy-bitsy morsel of a seed.
Remember one thing though, there's always someone out there that is worse off than you, look at this hungry little fellow, he can't even reach the seed. WELL, I'LL HAVE TO FIX THAT!
)
There you go, any time I can help out a #featheredfriend it's my pleasure.
This guy eats way too much, wouldn't you agree?
It's time for the Goldfinch to return, but with another foot of snow forecasted for today, their arrival may be put off along with our #gardening.
A big thank you to ,
, and
, the ladies that work hard to make this challenge so enjoyable.
