Quien diría que yo tendría alguna vez una tableta gráfica, será que el destino me está direccionando nuevamente por el mundo del arte, las ilustraciones y las animaciones. Hace aproximadamente dos años empecé a trabajar por un sueño; quise crear un canal de YouTube para hacer videos infantiles ahí fue cuando empecé a usar algunos softwares de diseño gráfico y hasta animación. Me puse a trabajar como una desquiciada, incluso asistí a dos cursos uno de after effects y otro de Photoshop.
Me la pasaba el día y la noche aprendiendo desde lo básico y lo cierto es que no me cansaba algunas veces solo dormía 2 horas, era muy interesante y se podría decir que hasta me apasionaba. Si hubiera continuado de la manera que lo hacía seguramente ahora sería experta, pero lastimosamente deje este sueño, supongo que aún no era mi momento, no llevaba una vida disciplinada, me exigía y pensaba que no lograría obtener algo de calidad. Ahora al menos ya sé un poco más sobre cómo funciona este tema.
Hace una semana llegó la tableta gráfica sin previo aviso, mi pareja quien me obsequió hizo una llamada para que saliera a ver al carro de servicio que iba de camino a casa a entregar el producto. En un principio imaginaba que la tableta tendría un parecido a un dispositivo smartphone, pero cuando lo tuve en mano e investigué al respecto sobre cómo funcionaba y los beneficios que tenía, comprendí que resultó ser idóneo para alguien que desea ser dibujante.
Cabe destacar que también tiene otras funcionalidades que específicamente para mí y mi pareja nos podría servir ya que somos ingenieros, por ejemplo, en el diseño de planos eléctricos modelados 2D, 3D, y para dar clases desde una pizarra digital. Es decir, tiene muchas funcionalidades que se adaptan a nuestro estilo de vida. Por ello me emociona que pueda tenerlo, podría ser que más adelante lleguen proyectos que esta herramienta nos facilitará la vida.

I spent all day and night learning from the basics and the truth is that I didn't get tired, sometimes I only slept 2 hours, it was very interesting and I could say that I was even passionate about it. If I had continued the way I was doing it, I would surely be an expert by now, but unfortunately I gave up this dream, I guess it was not yet my time, I did not lead a disciplined life, I was demanding and I thought I would not get something of quality. Now at least I know a little more about how this subject works.
A week ago the graphics tablet arrived unannounced, my partner who gave me the gift made a call for me to go out and see the service car that was on its way home to deliver the product. At first I imagined that the tablet would have a resemblance to a smartphone device, but when I had it in hand and researched about how it worked and the benefits it had, I understood that it turned out to be ideal for someone who wants to be a draftsman.
It should be noted that it also has other functionalities that specifically for me and my partner could serve us since we are engineers, for example, in the design of electrical plans modeled 2D, 3D, and to teach classes from a digital whiteboard. In other words, it has many functionalities that adapt to our lifestyle. En mi caso fue Windows y la instalación fue muy sencilla y rápida. Una vez instalado se hizo una breve revisión de los botones del lápiz en el que se verificó que posee algunos comandos: clic derecho, desplazar y clic, (las mismas funciones que nos ofrece un mouse). Además de esto podemos configurar la sensibilidad de la punta puede ser que elija suave o firme, en mi caso lo deje en un término medio. En este proceso también comprendí para qué servían los botones que tiene la tableta en la parte superior, de los cuales se trataba del shift, alt, ctrl, y tecla de Windows que a continuación se describe.

Una vez configurado las funciones del lápiz comencé a practicar en la pantalla de mi ordenador como si tuviera un mouse, también se aprovechó este momento para realizar un dibujo rápido en la aplicación Paint, creo que no está nada mal, aquí les comparto el primer dibujo con esta herramienta. Mientras investigaba sobre la tableta descubrí algo muy interesante que no me podía quedar sin recibirlo. Se trataba de un regalo que ofrecía Wacom.
Un software de ilustración gratuito por dos años, así que puse en marcha los pasos que se requerían para obtenerlo. En esta etapa me gustaría dejar una recomendación que es un tanto obvia pero que yo lo ignore he hizo que me tomara mas tiempo de lo necesario y es que, cuando se trata de descargar controladores o canjear algún software la tableta debe estar conectada al ordenador donde esté solicitando el servicio.

Para reclamar el software de diseño gráfico, lo primero que hice fue crear una cuenta en “Wacom ID”, en donde me había que registrar el número de serie de la tableta y llenar algunos datos extras que le solicitan como encuestas. Luego de este proceso y leer las instrucciones que la misma plataforma brinda fue sencillo lograrlo, lo único que tardó un poco fue la descarga del software de diseño gráfico, tardó aproximadamente unos 15 minutos.
Antes de descargar la página pide que elijas el software de tu preferencia y uso que se le quiera dar a la tableta, había para edición de fotografía, efectos visuales, pintura, ilustración, cómic, educación y presentación, por mi parte elegí uno de ilustración “CLIP STUDIO PAINT PRO” ya que no cuento con un programa de este tipo solamente Photoshop, pero es la versión portable.

Sinceramente tuve mis dudas sobre si podía o no obtener este regalo extra. El hecho de que se tardará fue algo que confirmaba mis dudas, puesto que la velocidad del internet que tengo es de 40 Mbps. Pero cuando vi la descarga y se realizó con éxito la activación de la licencia fue una sensación de tranquilidad y que mi sueño por ser dibujante iba en camino. No tengo conocimiento, ni experiencia en CLIP STUDIO PAINT PRO, la interfaz se me hizo similar a Photoshop, pero seguramente tiene muchas diferencias. Planeo encontrar tiempo e ir aprendiendo a manejar este programa con la ayuda de la tableta. Hay tantas cosas por hacer que iré poco a poco.
Conclusion:
Invertir en nuestro crecimiento y en herramientas que nos ayuden a ahorrar tiempo es algo que nos dará mayores oportunidades ante los demás. Considero que combinando varios talentos crearemos nuestra mejor versión. Me he dado cuenta que muchas veces soy impaciente con las cosas que hago, en esta vez iré sembrando y regando agua para que la cosecha sea de bendiciones y tenga grandes resultados. No hay nada de malo en aprender algo nuevo, en darse el tiempo para experimentar diferentes cosas al mismo tiempo. Este obsequio es una demostración que la vida te da regalos hoy en base al esfuerzo que hiciste ayer. Más adelante estaré compartiendo mis avances en las ilustraciones con estas dos herramientas que están en mis manos: el software y la tableta gráfica.
