Hoy quería compartir con ustedes mi opinión como un consumidor del servicio de internet fibra óptica, ya que como estoy cerca de cumplir un año con el servicio, quisiera contar mi experiencia de cómo ha sido para mí cuáles son las cosas buenas y las cosas malas y para mostrarte lo que es realmente la fibra óptica si tienes pensado adquirirla así que espero que te sea útil este artículo y comencemos.
Si hablamos de internet en Venezuela, los que somos de acá sabemos lo pésimo y terrible que es el servicio de internet. Lamentablemente este país cuenta con el peor internet de la región o del mundo. Ya que si disponías de cantv era sumamente lento el internet y había otra desventaja de que era difícil conseguir el servicio y si se llegaba a dañar o estropear el servicio podías tardar más de un año en procesos de restauración o incluso nunca te lo podían restaurar.

If we talk about internet in Venezuela, those of us who are from here know how lousy and terrible the internet service is. Unfortunately this country has the worst internet in the region or in the world. Así que cuando a mi comunidad llegó una empresa de fibra óptica cableando, dudé en un principio de contratar el servicio ya que me pensaba que pense que era una estafa pero luego de ver cómo una gran cantidad de vecinos instalaron el servicio de fibra óptica y disfrutaban de un excelente servicio, decidí contratarlo también y realmente considero que fue una buena decisión ya que mejoró mucho la experiencia de internet y pude desarrollar muchas cosas tanto de manera laboral como de entretenimiento y redes sociales.
Y ahora que ya voy a cumplir un año con el servicio de internet por fibra óptica puedo decir que mi opinión es que el servicio de internet es un 6 sobre 10, ya que aunque mejoró muchísimo la experiencia de usuario usando el internet, realmente siento que amedida de que van pasando los días la calidad o el servicio del internet desmejora muchísimo. Por ejemplo en mi caso aún conservó el plan inicial de una velocidad de 5 megas mensuales, no he tenido la oportunidad de poder comprarme un router doble banda que pueda soportar mayores velocidades. Pero aún usando el plan de 5 megas mensuales siento que a medida que han pasado los mecedades mejorado mucho el servicio.
En un principio aunque tenía solamente 5 megas y tenía el mismo router que tengo en este momento, navegaba a más velocidad, por ejemplo podía descargar una película de cuatro o 5 gb en tan solo 20 minutos, podía subir un video de 2GB a 3speak o YouTube, en tan solo 8 minutos. E incluso podía reproducir películas de manera online en full HD sin ningún problema, ya que en ningún momento se paraba la película o perdía la calidad por la falta de internet.

In my case, I used the internet at my father in law's house and since it was cantv, there were more times when we didn't have internet than when we had internet. And when the service was enabled it was extremely slow.So when a fiber optic cable company came to my community, I hesitated at first to hire the service because I thought that I thought it was a scam but after seeing how a lot of neighbors installed the fiber optic service and enjoyed an excellent service, I decided to hire it too and I really think it was a good decision because it greatly improved the internet experience and I could develop many things both for work and entertainment and social networking.
And now that I am about to celebrate a year with the fiber optic internet service I can say that my opinion is that the internet service is a 6 out of 10, because although the user experience using the internet has improved a lot, I really feel that as the days go by the quality or the internet service gets much worse.
For example, in my case I still kept the initial plan of a speed of 5 megabytes per month, I have not had the opportunity to buy a dual band router that can support higher speeds.But even using the 5 megas monthly plan I feel that as the years have gone by the service has improved a lot.
At the beginning, even though I only had 5 megabytes and I had the same router I have now, I could surf at higher speeds, for example I could download a four or 5 GB movie in only 20 minutes, I could upload a 2 GB video to 3speak or YouTube in only 8 minutes. And I could even play movies online in full HD without any problem, since at no time the movie stopped or lost quality due to lack of internet.
Pero ahora es bastante diferente, ya que si quiero descargar un archivo película o videojuego que pese más de 1 GB tengo que tardar alrededor de 3 horas. Y para poder subir un video a 3speak, de tan solo 300 mb, el proceso de carga dura alrededor de una hora y media. Incluso para subir imágenes que pesan menos de un megabyte al editor de texto de PeakD, dura alrededor de 2 minutos y medio cada imagen. Así que no entiendo absolutamente nada porque han desmejorado tanta la calidad, si aún sigo pagando la misma cantidad de dinero y teniendo los mismos aparatos que hace un año, los resultados han variado muchísimo a lo largo de los meses que han pasado.
Claro en este punto pienso tres cosas que puedan estar pasando, uno que como este plan de 5 MB ya no lo están promocionando y de hecho ya no existe en el catálogo de la empresa que ofrece este servicio de internet por fibra óptica. Pienso que posiblemente la empresa esté tratando de obligarme a adquirir el plan de 50 MB mensuales ya que de esta manera únicamente pagaría una diferencia de $5 adicionales Pero estaría llevando 10 veces más megabytes en internet aunque obviamente esto es relativo.
La otra razón por la cual pienso que ha desmejorado muchísimo la calidad del internet es la misma demanda del servicio de internet por fibra óptica. Ya que en la ciudad donde estoy, son dos empresas únicamente las que están ofreciendo este servicio y como hay muchísimos usuarios que solicitan este tipo de servicio puede que a medida que vayan incluyendo a más y más el ancho de banda del internet se reduzca porque hay cada vez más personas consumiéndolo, ya que en un principio los suscriptores a este servicio de internet por fibra óptica no superaban los 200 que fue cuando yo me uní hace un año pero al día de hoy hay más de 2500 usuarios activos y miles más esperando en cola para adquirir el servicio.

The other reason why I think that the quality of the internet has greatly deteriorated is the demand for fiber optic internet service. Since in the city where I am, there are only two companies that are offering this service and as there are many users requesting this type of service may be that as they are including more and more internet bandwidth is reduced because there are more and more people consuming it, since in the beginning subscribers to this fiber optic internet service did not exceed 200 which was when I joined a year ago but today there are more than 2500 active users and thousands more waiting in line to purchase the service.
Una tercera teoría que tengo y esta le incluyó de último porque suena bastante conspirativa, es que la empresa durante los tres primeros meses que la persona quiere el servicio nuevo le ponen el internet de maravilla para tratar de convencerlo de que es bueno y que de esta manera lo recomiende a otros para de así generar publicidad totalmente gratis y ventas masivas.
Pero sea cual sea el problema en si, es una realidad bastante notable que en un principio el internet funcionaba de maravilla pero un año después ha desmejorado muchísimo la calidad. Ya al ver películas en 720 o 640 se traba muchísimo e incluso viendo videos en YouTube separan dos o tres veces para mostrar un proceso de carga cosa que hace un año no sucedía para nada. Lo más sorprendente es que hace un año incluso puede disfrutar de videos en YouTube en 4k y nunca se detuvo para cargarse.
Así que mi experiencia o mi opinión para ti si quieres adquirir este servicio es que pienses que posiblemente en un principio vaya de maravilla pero que luego pierda un poco la calidad así que no te desesperes por eso, pero algo que puedo recomendar y que es muy bueno del servicio de fibra óptica privado es que si llega a ver un fallo o una caída del servicio de manera inmediata la empresa te va a responder Y eso es algo que realmente le da bastante puntos ya que como es privado y cuesta muy caro sería bastante injusto que la empresa no respondiera rápidamente a los servicios de fallos. En mi caso ha fallado el internet y me contacto inmediatamente con la empresa y en menos de 15 minutos ya tengo restablecido el servicio lo más interesante es que piden disculpas hasta dos o tres veces eso lo valoro mucho ya que se ve el compromiso y la responsabilidad por parte de la empresa. Muy diferente a lo que es CANTV ya que como comenté al principio a mi suegro se le fue el internet hace dos años y aunque han metido reclamos y reclamos una y otra vez hasta el día de hoy no se les ha colocado el internet y a pesar de que siguen pagándolo todos los meses porque si lo dejan de pagar se lo cortan.
Así que este es mi opinión personal en cuanto al servicio de internet en caso de otros usuarios puede ser distinta porque puede variar de proveedor a proveedor lo que sí me gustaría sería saber cuál ha sido tu opinión con el servicio de internet por fibra óptica cuál ha sido tu experiencia y por cuánto tiempo lo has tenido Y si has notado algún tipo de diferencia o desmejoramiento de la velocidad.
