The mouse as an ally of my emotional stability. [Eng/Esp].

It happened to me in the city of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil: my mouse succumbed to gravity and the hardness of my apartment floor. Without this digital ally, and while trying to keep myself active using only the keyboard, I was forced to wander around the city centre.

I entered a shopping arcade and, in front of the display of peripherals, decided to test my Portuguese. I asked the employee for a ‘mouse’. He, perhaps detecting my accent or out of pure modernity, replied in impeccable English that they had several ‘mouses’ in stock. Laughing at the bilingual exchange, I selected a standard, efficient and honest model. I know it well; I know that its technological validity is what allows my fingers to flow, helping me to build content that is, ultimately, the pillar of my emotional stability.

I remember my third-year high school chemistry teacher: he used to say that it is essential to know the theory in order to get good results in practice. When the mouse and keyboard work perfectly, being effective and efficient, they disappear from my conscious state. I become pure practical action. If they fail — as when the mouse hits the floor — the coherent frequency of the flow is broken, causing me frustration and stress.

I now understand that I need to maintain a direct relationship between the quality of my tools and my peace of mind. A tool that responds accurately reduces friction and allows me to achieve that rhythm of frequent ebb and flow, which is necessary for learning and creation.

Today, as my fingers dance across the keyboard and my hand guides this new ‘mouse,’ I celebrate not only technology, but the harmony it brings to my life. I bid farewell, enjoying the sonority of the Portuguese language and the docility of my new tool in this positive daily routine.

Thank you for being and existing in technology; at the end of the day, it is the bridge to my own peace.

Me aconteció en la ciudad de Boa Vista, Roraima, Brasil: mi mouse se rindió ante la gravedad y la dureza del suelo de mi apartamento. Ante la ausencia de este aliado digital, y mientras intentaba mantenerme activo solo con el teclado, me vi obligado a peregrinar por el centro de la ciudad.

Entré en una galería y, frente a la exhibición de periféricos, decidí poner a prueba mi portugués. Pregunté al empleado por un “rato”. Él, quizá detectando mi acento o por pura modernidad, me contestó en un inglés impecable que tenían varios “mouses” en stock. Entre risas por el intercambio bilingüe, seleccioné un modelo estándar, eficiente y honesto. Lo conozco bien; sé que su validez tecnológica es la que permite que mis dedos fluyan, ayudándome a construir contenidos que son, en última instancia, el pilar de mi estabilidad emocional.

Recuerdo a mi profesor de Química de tercer año de bachillerato: él decía que es básico conocer la teoría para tener buenos resultados en la práctica. Cuando el mouse y el teclado funcionan perfectamente, siendo eficaces y eficientes, desaparecen de mi estado consciente. Me transformo en pura acción práctica. Si fallan —como cuando el ratón se encuentra con el suelo—, se rompe la coherente frecuencia del flujo, provocándome frustración y estrés.

Comprendo ahora que necesito mantener con ecuanimidad una relación directa entre la calidad de mis herramientas y mi paz mental. Una herramienta que responde con precisión reduce la fricción y me permite alcanzar ese ritmo del frecuente flujo y reflujo, que necesario para el aprendizaje y la creación.

Hoy, mientras mis dedos recorren el teclado y mi mano guía este nuevo "ratón", celebro no solo la tecnología, sino la armonía que ella permite en mi vida. Me despido disfrutando de la sonoridad de la lengua portuguesa y de la docilidad de mi nueva herramienta en esta positiva cotidianidad.
