Es común pensar que este tipo de equipos es solo para tenerlos en aquellos lugares donde hay problemas eléctricos de índole humana y es cierto, pera también existen otras condiciones donde estos equipos pueden ser útiles. Mi anterior minio UPS se había dañado y ya era hora de adquirir uno nuevo y así poder brindar protección a mis equipos y no quedarme off cuando el servicio eléctrico desaparecer y porque mi proveedor a Internet, ofrece respaldo eléctrico a sus sistema.

Este mini UPS es de la marca OLAX, una marca que desconozco y es que estos equipos los traen desde China y realmente son tantas "marcas" las que hay, que ni idea de la calidad y son fan de probar productos chinos jajaja. Mi anterior equipo era de la marca Marsriva, pero mi experiencia me hace evitarlos por ciertos fallos que hacía que mis equipos se micro desconectaran cada cierto tiempo y tenía intermitencia. Me la pasaba peleando con mi proveedor de Internet por temas de intermitencia y luego de hacer algunas pruebas, descubrí que el fallo estaba en el mini UPS y eso era algo que estaba sucediendo desde los 5 meses del equipo y su tiempo de vida, luego de "explotar" la batería, fue de 1 año.
This mini UPS is the OLAX brand, a brand that I do not know and is that these devices are brought from China and there are really so many "brands" that there are, no idea of the quality and are a fan of testing Chinese products hahaha. My previous team was Marsriva brand, but my experience makes me avoid them for certain failures that made my teams micro disconnected every so often and had intermittency. I was fighting with my Internet provider for intermittency issues and after doing some tests, I discovered that the fault was in the mini UPS and that was something that was happening since 5 months of equipment and its lifetime, after "exploding" the battery, was 1 year.
A nivel de especificaciones, este mini UPS OLAX cuenta con una batería de 10000mAh, eso me da unas 8 horas de batería en base al consumo que tiene mi modem y router, es un tiempo más que suficiente, aunque donde vivo no tengo problemas con cortes eléctricos. Adicional, este equipo tiene 3 salidas de voltaje, una de 5V, 9V y 12V, adicional tiene una conexión POE para conectar antenas. Tiene los puertos necesarios para alimentar un sistema de redes, así como 1 puerto UBS en caso de ser necesario y que sirve para cargar cualquier dispositivo a 5V.
In terms of specifications, this mini UPS OLAX has a 10000mAh battery, that gives me about 8 hours of battery based on the consumption of my modem and router, it is more than enough time, although where I live I have no problems with power outages. Additionally, this equipment has 3 voltage outputs, one of 5V, 9V and 12V, it also has a POE connection to connect antennas. En la caja solo viene el equipo, el cable de alimentación, un cable conector Y para alimentar dos dispositivos en caso de que usen el mismo voltaje, pero si los equipos usan voltajes diferentes, entonces toca comprar el cable correspondiente. Adicional traen instrucciones, que a nadie le gusta leer, pero que realmente siempre recomiendo para que sigan las instrucciones del fabricante y no dañar el equipo por mal uso o configuración.
In the box only comes the equipment, the power cable, a Y connector cable to supply two devices in case they use the same voltage, but if the equipment uses different voltages, then you have to buy the corresponding cable. Como mencionaba, no sufro de cortes eléctricos o por lo menos como los sufren otras personas en el país, pero algo que si sucede es que ocurren fluctuaciones eléctricas y eso es peor para los equipos. Con estos mini UPS, al haber este tipo de fluctuaciones, no deja de haber flujo de corriente hacia los equipos y se evita que se dañen. Esa es una de las principales razones de adquirir este equipo y de prevenir estar off cuando realmente si se va el servicio y no parar de realizar mis actividades.
As I mentioned, I do not suffer from power outages or at least as other people suffer in the country, but something that does happen is that electrical fluctuations occur and that is worse for the equipment. With these mini UPS, when there are such fluctuations, there is no current flow to the equipment and prevents damage. That is one of the main reasons for acquiring this equipment and to prevent being off when the service really goes if the service and not stop doing my activities.
Ahora, mencionaba al inicio que estos equipos son útiles y es que si se vive en una zona donde suelen haber tormentas, es común que las personas desconecten todo. Donde vivo, cuando comienzan las épocas de lluvias y huracanes en el caribe, es todo un tema con la electricidad y siempre ha sido así desde que tengo memoria. A unos vecinos les paso, una vez que estaba lloviendo fuertemente y con rayos, en medio de la tormenta ha caído un rayo en un árbol que estaba cerca de un espacio donde se interconectan los cables de telefonía. Como consecuencia, terminaron 5 casas con modem y router quemados y un pc.
Yo particularmente, cuando la lluvia es una tormenta, suelo apagar todo y al tener un mini UPS, suelo desconectarlo del tomacorriente y dejo que los equipos trabajen con la batería y así evito cualquier daño por alguna rayo o descarga anormal del sistema eléctrico. Que les puedo decir, las crisis te llevan a estar preparado para no sufrir esos momentos que nadie debería vivir, pero el estar preparados, hace que las cosas puedan seguir fluyendo.
I mentioned at the beginning that this equipment is useful because if you live in an area where there are storms, it is common for people to disconnect everything. Where I live, when the rainy season and hurricanes start in the Caribbean, it is a big issue with electricity and it has always been like that for as long as I can remember. It happened to some neighbors, once it was raining heavily and with lightning, in the middle of the storm lightning struck a tree that was near a space where the telephone cables are interconnected. As a consequence, 5 houses ended up with burned modem and router and a pc.
I particularly, when the rain is a storm, I usually turn off everything and having a mini UPS, I usually disconnect it from the outlet and let the equipment work with the battery and thus avoid any damage by lightning or abnormal discharge of the electrical system. What can I tell you, crises lead you to be prepared to not suffer those moments that no one should live, but being prepared, makes things can continue to flow.
¿Recomiendo este equipo de esta marca? Solo tengo 1 mes de uso y me ha funcionado bien, no sé qué tiempo va a durar, pero ha funcionado perfectamente, ya solo me queda es colocar todo en la pared, por tema estético. Un punto a favor es que no se calienta para nada, a diferencia de mi antiguo mini UPS, que emitía bastante calor. Lo que si recomiendo es que protejas los equipos, así vivas en un país y zona donde no existan problemas eléctricos bien sean naturales o no. La protección precisamente se trata de eso, de prevenir cuando lleguen a suceder y si estas en Venezuela, es una compra obligatoria, tristemente.
Do I recommend this equipment of this brand? I only have 1 month of use and it has worked well, I do not know how long it will last, but it has worked perfectly, and all that remains is to place everything on the wall, for aesthetic reasons. A point in favor is that it does not heat up at all, unlike my old mini UPS, which emitted a lot of heat. What I do recommend is to protect the equipment, even if you live in a country and area where there are no electrical problems whether natural or not. The protection is precisely that, to prevent when they happen and if you are in Venezuela, is a mandatory purchase, sadly.
