¡Saludos mis geeksamigos! 🤗💖 El día de hoy les traigo una review de una APP que conseguí y de la cual les hablé hace poco en un post donde les comentaba de mi nueva hija perruna "Poly",en ese este post les decía que su veterinario no supo decirnos con exactitud hasta que tamaño crecería porque no sabía que composición genética exacta tenía.
Nosotros adoptamos a Poly y su mamá parece ser de raza Golden Retriever un poco más pequeña de lo normal, pero sus padres humanos no están seguros de que raza tenían los abuelos de Poly y por ende no están seguros de la de su mamá.
Según la poca información que tenemos, la mamá de Poly pudo haber quedado embarazada de un perro de raza "Dachshund" (también llamados Salchicha, nombre que aprendí a través de la App, cabe recalcar) porque unos vecinos tienen una mascota de esa raza, pero no saben con exactitud quien la enamoró y la dejó embarazada triste y sola, de los varios pretendientes que tenía cerca 🥲.
El punto es que me causó mucha intriga el saber hasta dónde crecería Poly porque estamos tratando de hacerle una casita de madera para que ella duerma y no sabíamos qué tamaño hacerla, así que le hicimos la pregunta al veterinario y nos dijo que no sabía 🥹.
Greetings my geeksfriends! 🤗💖Today I bring you a review of an APP that I got and that I told you about recently in a post where I told you about my new doggy daughter "Poly", in that post I told you that her vet could not tell us exactly how big she would grow because he did not know what exact genetic makeup she had.
We adopted Poly and her mom appears to be a Golden Retriever breed that is a little smaller than normal, but her human parents are not sure what breed Poly's grandparents were and therefore are not sure what her mom's breed was.
According to the little information we have, Poly's mom may have gotten pregnant by a "Dachshund" breed dog (also called Dachshund, a name I learned through the App, it should be noted) because some neighbors have a pet of that breed, but they don't know exactly who got her in love and left her pregnant sad and lonely, from the several suitors she had nearby 🥲.
The point is that it caused me a lot of intrigue to know how far Poly would grow because we are trying to make her a little wooden house for her to sleep in and we didn't know what size to make her, so we asked the question to the vet and he said he didn't know 🥹.
Llegué a mi casa al salir del veterinario y me puse a pensar, pero ¿cómo un veterinario no va a saber eso? Y es que la verdad yo no sé mucho de razas de animales, por lo que asumí que no era tan difícil saber ese pequeño detalle 🥹.
Desde que nos dijeron que el probable padre de Poly era un perro de raza "Salchicha", al intentar imaginar un Golden Retriever apareándose con un Salchicha, yo solo pensaba ¿Cómo pudieron, si los Golden son tan grandes? Me causaba demasiada gracia imaginarlo, por lo que nunca pensé que fuera posible.
Mi sorpresa fue al preguntarme a mí misma si había alguna forma de poder saber eso, pero que no fuera buscando miles de horas en internet sobre cientos y cientos de razas caninas o haciendo un estudio mega costoso del genoma perruno (que ni sé si existe, la verdad 🙃) así que me acordé de mis preciadas Aplicaciones, ustedes saben que siento que las APPs son uno de los mejores inventos de la humanidad 😍.
Así que me dispuse a buscar en la tienda de descargas de Play Store y me conseguí con la APP de la que les vengo a hablar, se llama "Dog Scanner", que es sencillamente un escáner de fotografías de perros, para determinar su probable raza o la mezcla de su origen.
Honestamente no le tenía mucha fe al principio porque le puse una foto de mi perrita "Poly" y me arrojó unos resultados, un tanto extraños, que van a poder ver abajo.
I got home from the vet and started thinking, but how could a vet not know that? And the truth is that I don't know much about animal breeds, so I assumed it wasn't that hard to know that little detail 🥹.
Since we were told that Poly's probable father was a "Dachshund" breed dog, when trying to imagine a Golden Retriever mating with a Dachshund, I just thought how could they, if Golden's are so big? It was too funny to imagine, so I never thought it was possible.
My surprise was when I asked myself if there was any way to know that, but not searching thousands of hours on the internet about hundreds and hundreds of dog breeds or doing a mega expensive study of the dog genome (which I don't even know if it exists, the truth 🙃) so I remembered my precious Apps, you know I feel that APPs are one of the best inventions of mankind 😍.
So I set out to search the Play Store download store and I came across the APP I'm here to tell you about, it's called "Dog Scanner", which is simply a scanner of dog pictures, to determine their probable breed or the mix of their origin.
Honestly, I didn't have much faith in it at first because I put a photo of my dog "Poly" and it gave me some strange results, which you can see below.
Como verán resultó que la raza de mi perrita venía de la mezcla de 4 razas, lo cual me pareció poco creíble, tomando en cuenta que las razas que mostró el resultado eran unas francesas, otra japonesa, inglesas y hasta escocesas o de raíces belgas 🙃, no sé nada de razas caninas, insisto, pero por la distancia geográfica con mi país no creí que fuera posible tal mezcla.
Así que en primera instancia no creí mucho en el resultado ni en la App, siendo completamente honesta con ustedes. No fue sino hasta días después que viendo las fotos de Poly de la actualidad, mientras hacía el post que les comenté arriba, que me puse a pensar que la fotografía que había escogido de "Poly" era de cuando apenas tenía 2 meses de edad y eso podría traer confusión a la App, porque sabemos que los caracteres en una mascota a esa edad son muy parecidos entre todos.
As you will see, it turned out that the breed of my dog came from the mixture of 4 breeds, which seemed not very credible to me, taking into account that the breeds that the result showed were French, Japanese, English and even Scottish or Belgian roots 🙃, I know nothing about dog breeds, I insist, but due to the geographical distance with my country I did not believe that such a mixture was possible.
So in the first instance I didn't believe much in the result nor in the App, being completely honest with you. It wasn't until a few days later, when I was looking at Poly's current pictures, while I was making the post I mentioned above, that I started to think that the picture I had chosen of "Poly" was from when he was only 2 months old and that could bring confusion to the App, because we know that the characters in a pet at that age are very similar between all of them.
Después de pensar en ese probable error me dispuse a buscar una fotografía más actual de Poly, que ya tiene 5 meses de edad y ha cambiado bastante, es la que les muestro un poco más abajo, y entonces la App me arrojó otro resultado:

Esto fue realmente lo que me impresionó, como podrán darse cuenta ¡en serio! salió que la probable mezcla de "Poly" era Golden Retriever mezclada con la raza "Salchicha" o también conocida como Dachshund, lo cual me dejó ¡muy! sorprendida, porque de verdad yo creía imposible la mezcla de una raza tan grande con una tan pequeña 😅😅.

Ya que sí confiaba algo en la App, me puse a explorar y a detallarla. La aplicación complementa su función al proporcionar información bastante amplia sobre las razas que obtienes como resultado, por si quieres aprender un poco sobre ellas, a mí en lo particular me sirvió bastante esta info porque conozco poco de razas de animales.
Además, tienes otras funciones que puedes usar, como agregarte a una red social creada por la App donde todos pueden subir sus imágenes, se escriben post sobre sus mascotas y donde podrás a la vez retroalimentar la aplicación para aumentar su data.
Esto es importante porque noté que algunas personas tienen opiniones negativas de la App, pero ¡vamos! No es nada fácil saber exactamente la mezcla de razas de un perro con solo una foto, lo importante es que al menos se aproxima, a mí me sirvió por todo lo que les cuento, pero entiendo que es una base de datos que se va actualizando en la medida de que tenga más usuarios y haya más y más fotografías de perritos, a fin de cuentas, la probabilidad de mezclas de razas debe ser casi infinita, al menos es lo que creo 🙃.
Since I did have some confidence in the App, I started to explore and detail it. The application complements its function by providing quite extensive information about the breeds you get as a result, in case you want to learn a little about them, to me in particular I found this info quite useful because I know little about animal breeds.
In addition, you have other functions that you can use, such as adding yourself to a social network created by the App where everyone can upload their images, write posts about their pets and where you can at the same time give feedback to the application to increase its data.
This is important because I noticed that some people have negative opinions of the App, but come on! It is not easy to know exactly the mix of breeds of a dog with just a photo, the important thing is that at least it is close, it was useful to me for everything I tell you, but I understand that it is a database that is updated as it has more users and there are more and more pictures of dogs, after all, the probability of mixing breeds should be almost infinite, at least that's what I think 🙃.
Tiene una opción también muy útil que se trata de encontrar información sobre una raza en específico cuando la colocas en el buscador, como el ejemplo de abajo donde introduje la raza: Gran Danés, una vez que la coloques te proporcionará datos bien interesante necesarios cuando piensas adquirir un ejemplar de ella, como por ejemplo expectativa de vida, tamaño, familiaridad y hasta te advierte sobre los costos de cuidados.
Son detalles que me parecen importantes porque a fin de cuentas muchas personas planean escoger una raza de mascotas y quieren que sea para cuido, o que sea familiar y se pueda relacionar con niños, tenga poca pérdida de pelo y sea hipoalergénica si tienen familiares con alergias, que sea de bajo mantenimiento, es decir, que no requiera de cortes de pelo constantes o que se enfermen fácilmente, todos son puntos importantes a tomar en cuenta a la hora de seleccionar una.

A mí en lo particular me gusta adoptar a mis mascotas, así que no busco nada de esto, pero, pues… entiendo que algunos tengan ciertos requerimientos si quieren tener una mascota en su hogar, en estos casos siento que esta App es ideal porque puedes encontrar en ella cualquier cantidad de razas con sus descripciones bien detalladas.
Honestamente no sé qué tan precisa pueda llegar a ser la App, aunque ella misma te informa que cuenta con un 80% de precisión, pero, pues… no sé qué tan real sea la información, yo solo les traigo mi experiencia con ella, la cual fue positiva y acorde a lo que se pensaba con los antecedentes de mi perrita, resultados que me dejaron de verdad muy impresionada y por eso quise compartirla con ustedes por si necesitan algo así en algún momento para que les ayude a aclarar dudas.

I particularly like to adopt my pets, so I don't look for any of this, but, well...
