Safe to say it has been ages since I started checking out online games, especially browser based. There were a lot of FPS roblox-looking alike that I played in the past and zombie browser based games. The other day, I was so bored that I ended up browsing randomly and stumbled upon this online board game forum that mentioned monopoly. To be fair, monopoly also caught my attention when I saw this trailer of reality show, Bro & Marble in Dubai, a south korean reality tv show based on monopoly where players get to play it IRL (In real life). Can you imagine buying IRL land? Just based on those connections alone, I ended up playing this Monopoly. In the past, you might also have heard of Get Rich, it was pretty popular when I was in highschool and I am not sure if that one still exists. But now, if you’re bored and trying to play board games and have no friends, this RENTO board game is pretty fun to play. As they don’t really require you to have friends 😀, just play the solo against the robot or teaming up with the robot.

If you play solo, you can see several options that you can customize based on your needs. From choosing the robot difficulty level to setting the numbers of players that you want to have. Or you can also team up with the robot and set everything accordingly.

It really is just like offline monopoly!

The rules are pretty much the same with an exception that the place in this monopoly is a lot different than what I used to know. The expensive land and property as you can see is Qatar and China. While the cheapest would be Libya and Sudan. There are 4 train stations that you can travel to if you happen to own and land on one of those. Unlike the old monopoly, this RENTO has only countries and stations to purchase. There’s a special country in this board game called “Vatican” where others can bid to purchase it.

In order to win the game, you have to make sure that all players declare bankruptcy. To reach that point, you have to strategically own the land, purchase buildings until they become a hotel/landmark. Then, weighing if a trade like you see below is necessary. Usually, you only initiate a trade if the other player has a single country that you need to have in order to build a building.

The way you can get money from other players is when they are stopping in your property. The more you have and the building around it, the more you will get. Theres also a feature of spinning the wheel that sometimes can make or break your journey. You can either get $1000 or even money deducted from your balance.

The longest I spent on this game was 42 minutes. I have to say that they’re pretty fun to play when you’re bored and looking for something new to do.

If you’re that extra bored, you can check the lobby with all the chats that’s basically pretty hilarious and filled with trolls. If being toxic is your other alter ego, that’s another spot you can’t miss from this board game.

Either Way, the game is fun to kill time.
