Hello everyone! I had a 32 gb sandisk usb lying around and after doing a research about what to do with the usb which you don't use I decided to make a bootable Tails Os usb for my privacy needs. The thing I like about this os is that it connects to tor network by default and it runs smoothly on a cheap usb stick. After writing down a passphrase you can make configurations easily to save networks , data, installed apps etc but by doing that you make your os less secure. Tails OS is like running a ubuntu destkop but os size is smaller (1.3 gb iso image ) and everything is made to protect your privacy. Since tor network is so slow it takes at least 20-30 minutes to connect to the network at first time. So I'm planning to use this os to store and encrypt my important files and other than that maybe I will browse the internet with it but my internet is so weak so i don't think i will enjoy it. It's also perfect os for travellers who wants to use internet securely on public wifi and wants to access their data securely.
About installation:
First step download usb image from their official website - https://tails.boum.org/
Second step download bootable usb creater for windows https://rufus.ie/en/
And if you use linux etcher is the best but there are other ones too https://www.balena.io/etcher/
After downloading usb image file use one of these apps too create a botable usb stick, restart your pc and press f12 button to acces bios and choose usb stick to boot from it and that's it now you can configure and use Tails OS.
If you had a usb stick lying which live operating system would you like to use it with?
