No sé muy bien por dónde empezar éste post, pero creo que me dejaré llevar por los hechos de manera secuencial. Hace unos meses mi abuela nos comunicó que su teléfono Redmi estaba dañado o mejor dicho no estaba funcionando muy bien. El teléfono fue un regalo hace dos años del día de las madres. Mi abuela es una señora elegante, y ya saben cómo son las abuelas cuando se le daña algo.
Mi tía casualmente me dijo que había que comprarle un celular, que debíamos recolectar entre todos para eso. Yo le fui sincero: no se puede tengo muchos gastos por la defensa de la tesis y la graduación (aún debo pagar unos aranceles, registro, viajar a caracas y colegiarme). Entre toda esa locura el tema se pausó y retomó en diciembre. Realmente se volvió insostenible comunicarse con mi abuela.
La decisión fue que entre toda la familia se recolectaría para comprar un teléfono modesto y que utilizara las funciones básicas que ella necesita. La mayoría de veces mi abuela está de viaje, en su casa o apartamento. Esto dificultaba comunicarse con ella; ya que el teléfono Redmi presentaba fallas de conectividad (por esa misma razón no me gusta esa marca de celular).
En fin, una vez recolectado el dinero para el celular, buscamos (mi tía y yo) una agencia en donde pudiéramos comprar rápido el celular. Le indiqué que lo compráramos en CLX, pero ella no quería ir hasta el Sambil de Barquisimeto (es algo lejos y en navidad estuvimos muy ocupados). Elegimos una tienda ubicada en el Centro Comercial Cosmo dónde se habían comprado celulares con anterioridad: Atenas 2020 C.A.

A few months ago, my grandmother informed us that her Redmi phone was damaged, or rather, not working very well. The phone was a Mother's Day gift two years ago. My aunt casually told me that we had to buy her a mobile phone and that we should all collect together for it. I was honest with her: I can't, I have a lot of expenses for the thesis defense and graduation (I still have to pay some fees, register, travel to Caracas and register). In the midst of all this madness, the issue was paused and resumed in December. It really became untenable to communicate with my grandmother.
The decision was made that the whole family would collect money to buy a modest phone that would have the basic functions she needed. Most of the time, my grandmother is on the road, at home or in her flat. This made it difficult to communicate with her, as the Redmi phone had connectivity flaws (I don't like that brand of phone for that very reason).
Anyway, once we had collected the money for the mobile phone, we (my aunt and I) looked for an agency where we could buy the phone quickly. I told her that we should buy it at CLX, but she didn't want to go to the Sambil in Barquisimeto (it's a bit far away, and we were very busy at Christmas). En este caso por consenso decidimos que fuera un Samsung A14. Lo sorprendente de éste modelo es la similitud que posee con el mío (características físicas). Queríamos adquirir uno mejor, pero la verdad es que se debían comprar otras cosas: medicinas y algunas cosas adicionales para mi abuela (cosas personalísimas).
El precio del celular fue de 4854.60 bolívares que equivalen a 140 dólares según el precio referencial en Venezuela. El equipo solamente venía con el cable usb, pero nos obsequiaron el cargador (la cabeza o chupón de carga eléctrica).
Oficialmente, le entregamos el teléfono a mi abuela el día de ayer (ya estábamos un poco más calmados). El celular se compró el 30 de diciembre del año pasado 2023. Así que en ése momento empezó el desempaquetado. Me gustó hacerle estas fotos.
A medida que iba sacándolo de la caja, tomaba una fotografía y volvía a visualizar que era igual al mío. Las diferencias evidentemente eran el peso, almacenamiento y mayor capacidad. Sin embargo, para ser un teléfono de 140 $ es lo suficientemente llamativo y práctico.

Al desempaquetar pude visualizar que la parte trasera del equipo es rustica y la caja viene en nuevo formato o el usual de gama media. Todo muy minimalista, sencillo y elegante. Una de las bondades del A14 es que es 5G y el problema de conectividad desaparecerá.
Una de las cosas que acordamos mi tía y yo era que debíamos comprar algo mínimo con una memoria Ram de 4GB. ¡Éste celular la posee! Lo más interesante es que el almacenamiento interno es de 64 a 128 GB. El tema de las fotografías no será un problema. Mi abuela siempre pide fotos a cada uno de nosotros para guardarlas o verlas. Claro, ella también toma las suyas. En mi acto de grado ella pidió todas las fotografías y las guardó.
I liked that it also matches my grandmother's style, the only thing we missed was the lining due to the rush and all that was done at Christmas. We told Grandma to keep it in a stocking in the meantime, ha ha ha. Of course, the phone has a screen protector, so it doesn't get damaged.

Comparé la cámara del celular con el mío y es muy similar. No es perfecta, ya que este es un celular del año 2022, pero la cámara frontal es de 50 MP y la macro es de 20 MP. Lo suficientemente decente para poder hacer una buena toma en un lugar abierto y con mucha luz. Mi abuela disfrutará mucho el regalo.
Ayer regresé casi a las 10 de la noche debido a que estábamos pasando la información del viejo Redmi, importando y bajando aplicaciones. Todo con el propósito de que mi abuela disfrute mucho su celular. No les negaré que el cierre de año fue emocionante, pero también hicimos muchas cosas. Ahora toca descansar un poco y disfrutar.
Sin lugar a dudas, si deseas comprar un celular y posees un capital base moderado, esta es una buena opción que puede cubrir tus necesidades incluso como creador de contenido. Mi abu está muy feliz. ¡Amo!
