Bueno, hoy les quiero contar una pequeña historia de cuando estaba en un equipo de Counter-Strike.

Hace mucho tiempo, cuando las partidas solo se jugaban por Red Local (LAN) y los dinosaurios caminaban por la Tierra XD. Estoy hablando de las versiones de Counter-Strike 1.4 y anteriores. Yo solía jugar mucho con amigos en un mega cybercafé que estaba cerca de mi casa, cuando ese estilo de juego estaba de moda.

Vivía en Los Teques, Venezuela, y comenzaron a organizar torneos en los que diferentes cybercafés se unían. Terminé formando un equipo que, la verdad, era bastante decente. Nuestro equipo se llamaba "La Corte" (L4Cort3), como lo colocábamos en nuestros nombres. En ese entonces, mi nombre de usuario era AbraHam, porque me gustaba mucho el anime Patlabor, y de ahí tomé ese nombre. Entonces mi nombre era AbraHam (L4Cort3).

Pasábamos horas entrenando y logramos organizarnos para ir a la competencia del municipio, ¡y ganamos! Fue un momento muy divertido, uno de los mejores recuerdos que tengo relacionados con los videojuegos y mi infancia, lleno de compañerismo y amistad. Tal vez afectó un poco mi tiempo de estudio en ese momento, ¡pero valió la pena!

Fue una experiencia excelente. En ese momento era un poco mejor que el promedio y no lo hice mal. Luego fuimos a jugar a nivel estatal o provincial, como se dice en Argentina. En nuestro primer partido perdimos, pero igual fue una buena experiencia. Por suerte, pude jugar cerca de mi casa, así que no tuvimos que hacer muchas cosas para ir al torneo.

En el torneo del municipio ganamos algo de dinero, no recuerdo el monto, y creo que unas 50 horas gratuitas en el cybercafé. ¡Esa fue mi experiencia! ¡La mejor experiencia a nivel de juegos que he tenido! También cabe destacar que cs_havana y cs_office eran mis mapas favoritos.

Well, today I want to share a little story from when I was on a Counter-Strike team.

A long time ago, when matches were only played over a Local Area Network (LAN) and dinosaurs roamed the Earth XD. I’m talking about versions of Counter-Strike 1.4 and earlier. I used to play a lot with friends at a big cybercafé near my house when that style of gaming was popular.

I lived in Los Teques, Venezuela, and they started organizing tournaments where different cybercafés would come together. I ended up forming a team that, honestly, was pretty decent. Our team was called "La Corte" (L4Cort3), which we would add to our usernames. Back then, my username was AbraHam, because I really liked the anime Patlabor, and that’s where I got the name from. So my name was AbraHam (L4Cort3).

We spent hours practicing and managed to organize ourselves to go to the municipal tournament, and we won! It was a really fun time, one of the best memories I have related to gaming and my childhood, full of camaraderie and friendship. Maybe it affected my study time a bit back then, but it was totally worth it!

It was an excellent experience. At that time, I was slightly above average and didn’t do too bad. Then we went on to play at the state or provincial level, as they say in Argentina. We lost our first match, but it was still a good experience. Luckily, I was able to play close to home, so we didn’t have to do much to get to the tournament.

In the municipal tournament, we won some money—I don’t remember how much—and I think about 50 free hours at the cybercafé. That was my experience! The best gaming experience I’ve ever had! Also, it’s worth mentioning that cs_havana and cs_office were my favorite maps.
