Hello, today I came to show you a lost jewel and an almost extinct genre of the video game environment. I bring you a game of Fight, Combat, Vs.. Whatever you want to call it, a Mortal Kombat π
Very classic, with a Dragon Ball theme and unfortunately it is NOT on the PlayStore anymore, I downloaded it a while ago and today when I went looking for it to take screenshots, I couldn't find it.
I must be honest, it's not a game that attracts me or makes me spend hours playing, logically due to how repetitive it becomes, although I understand that there is a public that loves this type of game and that's why I bring it.
Let's start with what we all care about, the unlockable characters!
There are many and I think relatively current. They are all unlocked by buying them, that is, you fight in tournaments and you will accumulate coins that you can later use to unlock characters. The same mechanics that we already know and that we have been seeing for a long time.
Although, I remember that in Mortal Kombat the mechanics were a bit different, since you had to complete the whole "story" cycle and they unlocked a character for you and then you had to repeat the whole cycle to unlock the next one on the list. I think that this mechanic made the game more addictive, because you couldn't unlock the character and that's it, generally the one you wanted was at the end of the list and you had to play many hours to be able to use it.
It just occurred to me, but maybe that's why this type of game stopped being popular. What do you think? π€
As for the game modes, they are very simple, we only have 4 modes. One is the classic quick fight, which consists of a single battle with a random opponent or chosen by us, this is what gives us less rewards.
Then we have a tournament option, where we are going to be participating in different battles consecutively and the idea is the same as always, to win the tournament and get as many rewards as possible.
We also have the classic training mode, where our opponent does not move. This is very good for practicing combos and exploiting our character's abilities.
And finally, we have a Boss mode. It's the first time I've seen it, to tell the truth, this mode consists of fighting with a random opponent and he himself is going to have an absurd amount of life, which will make it much more difficult for us to win. Obviously this is what gives the most reward βΊοΈ
As for the gameplay, I'm not going to go into much depth, because it really is very classic. Lever on the left side to move and buttons on the right to attack and dodge. And yes, we can do combos, special attacks and they all change depending on the character we use.
For example, something that I found extremely funny is that Mr. Satan uses a Jet Pack to move around the screen, since he can't fly π
And not only that, but for the primary energy attack, so to speak, he uses a gun and for the secondary attack Majin Boo arrives and does it for him. I really liked this and it made me laugh π
The End
And ready! There is no need to explain anything else, a very simple, fun game that is worth having.
Let's hope this type of games doesn't die, even though I'm not a fan of the genre, I really appreciate the simplicity and how much fun they can be. Not for nothing, but before FIFA, there was nothing better than playing a VS with your friends. I played alone, although that is another story.. π
