Hello, I’m Sandra Day, but you can call me Sandy. I am so happy to have found this platform where I can write and share my life stories, experiences and everyday thoughts. I am onboarded by we met through Facebook and oriented me how Hive works. With her help and guidance, I now have a safe cyberspace to express my inner voice and continue with my passion which is writing. I understand that I must use my own original pictures. I must also do quality engagement and post. I must not use AI in all posts and engagements and that plagiarism is not allowed in Hive. Photos are mine and edited using Canva.
One of the things I’m passionate about ever since I was a kid was writing and I am so excited to reconnect myself to this craft and join this wonderful community. Life is full of surprises and tomorrow is never promised. So, I am doing what I should be doing now. With all the experiences I had, I came to realized that there are different seasons in our lives which we ought to live fully. As a kid, we embrace our innocence and candid joy by playing games with friends, doing school works and obeying our parents’ wishes. In our teenage years, we start to deal with all the adolescent changes physically and psychologically. They said, it was the hardest phase to go through because it can often make or break our future. But hey, many of us survived our teenage years! Adulthood is the season where we start to be seriously happy and live life to the fullest. Often times, it is the phase where we care the most about health and other life stuff.
I am 35 years old, married, and has two beautiful daughters. My family is my happiness and I love them so much! I got married when I was nineteen and I have to admit that marrying at a young age completely changed my life 180 degrees! I had to stop college and joined corporate world in a call center. I also went abroad to look for greener pasture. In Kuwait, I gained unforgettable experiences that taught me a lot of lessons. The experience of living in a country with different culture is surreal. I would say It was one of the most exciting journeys I went through. I learned to speak Arabic, I learned some of their customs and traditions, and most of all I learned to be self-reliant because in a foreign land where everything is unfamiliar, there is only one person I can rely on- myself! But good things have to end and I decided to come back to the Philippines after the 2-year contract. No matter how great Kuwait is, there is no place like home and also, I can no longer endure the pain of homesickness and the thought of being away from my family was killing me softly.
Now that I am back home, I decided to come back to college and really determined to finish it this time around. I am a second-year college student now taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English. I am a mother, a student and an ESL teacher, so wearing different hats is quite tough yet manageable.
Life is so magical and God only knows what’s next. But for me, I will live my life full of dreams, determined to achieve each of them so that one day when I look back, I would see myself winning because I believe that I’m destined to be successful.
The final season is yet to come and when it happens, may we all share the same feels – a life well-lived!
