Back in the day 1.5 years ago when Next Colony was announced a thought came to my head and I was thinking there is no way that Drug Wars will live longer than a space exploration game, and boy was I wrong. Next Colony was a mess, it had potential, it had a large player base but it couldn't achieve longevity, their developers got fat on Hive airdrop and decided to quit on the game. They spread out last season rewards on very few players, meanwhile a lot of people cashed out nothing from this game, I personally got raided in the last season by a greedy top 10 player so I didn't even end up in top 50, it left a horrible taste in my mouth.
Even though the game ended it had some bright moments, every time when you unlocked a new ship, every time you found a new planet you had a sense of progression and accomplishment. But whenever you try to expand your space empire you realize how slow everything is, managing more than 10 planets took forever, and what did you get in the end, a fat 0, a dead game, hundreds of Steem down the drain. I imagine this will be a destiny of many other crypto games, this is already 2nd one that died, first one being EOS Knights, now Next Colony. I wonder which one is next?
My advice to all of you crypto gamers out there, be careful, never invest huge amounts of money on any game that can just close their doors like Next Colony did and leave you lost in space with nothing.
