Esta es mi primera publicación del año 2026. Espero que este año sea para todos de mucho éxito y prosperidad. Quiero compartirles cómo fue nuestra cena de Navidad el 24 de diciembre del año que acabamos de despedir. Como en años anteriores, esta vez también fuimos a recibir la Navidad a la casa de mi hermano, bueno, de uno de mis hermanos, porque el menor está en Venezuela y nosotros aquí en Colombia. Como todo buen venezolano, es obvio que no podían faltar la hallaca, el pan de jamón, las frutas y todo lo demás, pero todo esto, como siempre, gracias a Dios, que nos permite la vida, la salud y la provisión de alimentos para nuestros hogares.

This is my first post of 2026. I hope this year is full of success and prosperity for everyone. I want to share with you how our Christmas dinner was on December 24th of the year we just said goodbye to. As in previous years, this time we also went to celebrate Christmas at my brother's house—well, one of my brothers, because the younger one is in Venezuela and we're here in Colombia. Like any good Venezuelan, of course, there had to be hallacas, pan de jamón, fruit, and everything else, but all of this, as always, thanks to God, who gives us life, health, and food for our homes.
Este fue un 24 de diciembre muy especial, no solo porque estábamos a pocos días de despedir el año, sino porque este 2025 me dejó uno de los regalos más grandes que puede tener un hombre en sus brazos. Les hablo de mi hija, que nació en noviembre y pudo posar para sus primeras fotos navideñas pocos días después. Creo que he recibido el mejor regalo del Niño Jesús, según la tradición.
This December 24th was very special, not only because we were just days away from saying goodbye to the year, but because 2025 brought me one of the greatest gifts a man can hold in his arms. I'm talking about my daughter, who was born in November and was able to pose for her first Christmas photos a few days later. I believe I've received the best gift from Baby Jesus, according to tradition.
Pero además de mi hija, el 6 de diciembre nació mi sobrina, hija de mi hermano, el que vive en el lugar donde fuimos a pasar el 24 de diciembre. Ella se llama Alondra y es una hermosura. Será la fiel compañera de mi hija Anthonella, así que este año 2025 sí que nos dejó muy buenos regalos a toda la familia.
But in addition to my daughter, my niece was born on December 6th. She's my brother's daughter, and he lives where we went to spend Christmas Eve. Her name is Alondra, and she's absolutely beautiful. She'll be a wonderful companion for my daughter Anthonella, so 2025 certainly brought some very good gifts to the whole family.
Pero no podemos dejar de lado la entrega de regalos, el famoso “Niño Jesús” que esperan todos los niños para estas fechas. Ese día teníamos muchos sobrinos e hijos de amigos que fueron parte de esta entrega de regalos: desde piscinas de pelotas, pistas de carreras, castillos de princesas y sillas mecedoras musicales, como fue el caso de mi bebé Anthonella. Fue un día excelente, de mucha comida, risas y cervezas compartidas entre familia y amigos.
But we can't forget the gift-giving, the famous "Baby Jesus" that all children look forward to this time of year. That day we had many nephews and friends' children who participated in the gift-giving: from ball pits and race tracks to princess castles and musical rocking chairs, like the one my baby Anthonella got. It was a wonderful day, full of food, laughter, and beers shared with family and friends.
Por los momentos seguimos divididos, por el mismo tema de siempre: la migración separó a muchas familias desde hace años, motivo por el cual nos ha tocado estar lejos de nuestros padres, amigos y hermanos. Espero que pronto todos volvamos a pasar una Navidad juntos. Lo importante fue que la pasamos bien y que la familia en general también la pasó muy bien.
For now, we're still separated, for the same old reason: migration has separated many families for years, which is why we've had to be far from our parents, friends, and siblings. I hope we can all spend Christmas together again soon. The important thing was that we had a good time, and the family in general had a great time too.
