Ayer fue un día importante, se celebró la 95.ª edición de los Premios Óscar y en mi familia no podíamos perdérnosla, estábamos entusiasmados por varias categorías, y aunque no era nuestra idea principal para el domingo, al final nos pusimos manos a la obra con unos deliciosos perros calientes porque estamos enviciados con prepararlos últimamente, y nos están quedando muy ricos, así que entre una rica cena y la unión familiar, vimos toda la ceremonia hasta el final y debo decir que no me arrepiento.

Yesterday was an important day, the 95th edition of the Academy Awards was held and in my family we could not miss it, we were excited about several categories, and although it was not our main idea for Sunday, in the end we got down to work with some delicious hot dogs because we are addicted to prepare them lately, and they are getting very tasty, so between a nice dinner and family togetherness, we watched the whole ceremony until the end and I must say that I do not regret it.
La verdad la idea original de domingo era con una película en lugar de la premiación de la academia del cine, pensábamos ver alguna de las nominadas a mejor películas, nuestras primeras opciones eran “Todo En Todas Partes Al Mismo Tiempo” y “Avatar 2: El Camino Del Agua”, así que ya tenía todo listo para cualquiera que fuera la decisión.
Sin embargo, una amiga de mi mamá estaba emocionada por ver los premios, y le escribió en el momento en que empezaron a pasar la alfombra roja por E!, así que aprovechamos que mis hermanos no estaban y empezamos a ver la alfombra roja, de todas formas era temprano y aun no veríamos la película.📺
Actually the original idea for Sunday was to watch a movie instead of the Academy Awards, we were planning to watch one of the best picture nominees, our first choices were "Everywhere Everywhere All At Once" and "Avatar 2: The Way of Water", so I had everything ready for whatever the decision was.
However, a friend of my mom's was excited to see the awards, and texted her the moment they started to run the red carpet for E!, so we took advantage of my siblings not being there and started watching the red carpet, it was early anyway and we still wouldn't see the movie.📺

Mi mamá y yo estábamos chismeando y hablando de cada persona que iba llegando. La que más resaltó en primer momento fue la icónica de Angela Bassett, cuyo vestido morado se veía precioso en ella. Le estaba mostrando a mi mejor amigo por chat lo que estaba viendo y en el momento en que entrevistaron a la nominada a “Mejor Actriz de Reparto” en seguida le pasé una foto a Carlos, quien dijo que se veía muy linda.👸🏾
My mom and I were gossiping and talking about each person that was arriving. The one that stood out the most at first was the iconic Angela Bassett, whose purple dress looked gorgeous on her. I was showing my best friend via chat what I was seeing and the moment they interviewed the nominated for "Best Supporting Actress" I immediately passed a picture to Carlos, who said she looked very pretty.👸🏾

Como tenía ganas de picar algo mientras veíamos el show, le dije a mi mamá para preparar un poquito de cotufas solo para ella y para mí, y eso hice. Quedaron muy sabrosas porque las hice con bastante mantequilla, era una ocasión especial y necesitaban quedar riquísimas. Lo cierto es que para farandulear, le dije a mi mamá para sacarnos al menos una selfie para poder compartir en redes y guardar el recuerdo.🍿
Teníamos ya un buen tiempo sin ver un evento de premiación con tantas ansias, no sé si había sido por los nominados o por alguna razón, pero para mí los Oscars no eran tan entretenidos. Total que aproveché, en mi mente solo veríamos la alfombra roja y luego de eso haríamos la cena y pondríamos una película, así que a sacar esas foticos.
Since I felt like having a snack while we were watching the show, I told my mom to prepare a little bit of popcorn just for her and me, and that's what I did. They were very tasty because I made them with a lot of butter, it was a special occasion and they needed to be delicious. The truth is that I told my mom to take at least one selfie to share on social networks and keep the memory. 🍿
It had been a long time since we had seen an awards event with so much anticipation, I don't know if it was because of the nominees or for some reason, but for me the Oscars were not that entertaining. So I took advantage of it, in my mind we would only see the red carpet and after that we would have dinner and a movie, so I took those pictures.

Luego, a eso de las 7:00 – 7:30 mi mamá tenía una cliente que atender, por ende ya dejaríamos de ver el show y yo me pondría a hacer la cena. Grande fue mi sorpresa cuando mi mamá dijo que le pusiera la premiación en HBO Max, para seguir viendo pero ahora en el televisor de la sala. Fue un cambio súper significativo, porque con lo rápido que estaba el internet, la calidad había mejorado bastante.
Era impresionante para mí ver lo HD de la premiación, en especial porque en general cuando vemos premiaciones las vemos en televisión por cable. Incluso me encantó tener la oportunidad de ver la preciosidad de Jessica Chastain en vivo y con tanta calidad, tuve que sacarle una foto, estaba bellísima y una de mis favoritas en la alfombra roja de esta edición.✨
Then, around 7:00 - 7:30 my mom had a client to attend to, so we would stop watching the show and I would start making dinner. Big was my surprise when my mom told me to put the award on HBO Max, so I could continue watching but now on the TV in the living room. It was a super significant change, because with how fast the internet was, the quality had improved a lot.
It was impressive for me to see the HD of the awards, especially because in general when we watch awards we watch them on cable TV. I even loved having the opportunity to see Jessica Chastain's beauty live and in such a high quality, I had to take a picture of her, she was gorgeous and one of my favorites on the red carpet of this edition.✨

Total que mientras mi mamá iba trabajando, los premios apenas empezaban y mi hermana y yo nos pusimos a la obra para preparar la cena. Ella se encargó de diversas cosas, por ejemplo, ella picó el repollo, rayó la zanahoria, frió las salchichas e iba poniendo los panes en baño de María para que tuvieran mejor texturas. Yo obviamente que saqué fotos, sobre todo unas lindas selfies, para las que incluso llamé a mi mamá.
También acomodamos un buen nido en la sala para ver la premiación allí. Fue como una decisión silenciosa que se tomó, porque al principio teníamos la idea de ver una peli como mencioné anteriormente, pero luego, cuando “Pinocho de Guillermo del Toro” ganó la primera categoría y todos nos llenamos de emoción, fue prácticamente inevitable querer seguir viendo toda la ceremonia y ver si nuestros favoritos iban ganando.🤥
So, while my mom was working, the awards were just beginning and my sister and I got to work preparing dinner. She took care of several things, for example, she chopped the cabbage, grated the carrots, fried the sausages and put the breads in a water bath so they would have a better texture. I obviously took pictures, especially some nice selfies, for which I even called my mom.
We also set up a nice nest in the living room to watch the awards ceremony there. It was like a silent decision that was made, because at first we had the idea of watching a movie as I mentioned before, but then, when "Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio" won the first category and we were all filled with excitement, it was almost inevitable to want to continue watching the whole ceremony and see if our favorites were winning.🤥

Cena lista, nido preparado y muchas ganas de ver una premiación. Nos acostamos, nos pusimos cómodos todos y ya podríamos cenar y ver la ceremonia en paz, y aunque hubo una pequeña resistencia de parte de mi hermano, logramos convencerlo que ver los Oscars era mejor opción.
Saqué las respectivas fotos, y debo comentarles que esos perros quedaron fue deliciosos, un poquito de picante y listo para devorarlos. El pan suave, la salchicha bien frita, el toque de la cebolla que hace que el perro caliente sepa aún mejor y su cantidad correcta de salsa mayonesa, kétchup y mostaza.🌭
Dinner ready, nest prepared and eager to watch an awards ceremony. We went to bed, we all got comfortable and we could have dinner and watch the ceremony in peace, and although there was a little resistance from my brother, we managed to convince him that watching the Oscars was a better option.
I took the respective pictures, and I must tell you that those dogs were delicious, a little bit of spice and ready to devour. The soft bread, the well fried sausage, the touch of onion that makes the hot dog taste even better and the right amount of mayonnaise, ketchup and mustard.🌭

Estaba súper emocionado por ver a mi favorita, pues según rumores, Lady Gaga haría una presentación de su canción nomidada “Hold My Hand”, parte del soundtrack de “Top Gun: Maverick”. Ya la había visto en la alfombra roja pero no logré sacar ninguna foto, sin embargo estaba súper impresionante, con un hermoso vestido negro que dejó notar algo: Está bastante flaca. Mi teoría es que, como ella es actriz de método, está inmersa en su siguiente papel protagónico en la secuela del Joker, “Joker: Folie à Deux”. También menciono que un amigo pasó la foto de lo vulnerable que se veía Gaga, no pude evitar adjuntarla.
Cuando llegó su momento de cantar, estaba totalmente impresionado, porque en la alfombra y durante la ceremonia, ella lucía su hermoso vestido y un maquillaje espectacular, pero al momento de ponerse en el escenario, el mundo se paralizó; estaba Lady Gaga sin una sola gota de maquillaje, con ropa sencilla, unos labios rotos y resecos que hicieron lo que ella quería: una presentación sumamente personal que nos hizo conectar con su alma, con solo su voz logró erizar la piel de todos y conseguir una ovación de pie.👏🤩
I was super excited to see my favorite, because according to rumors, Lady Gaga would be performing her nominated song "Hold My Hand", part of the soundtrack of "Top Gun: Maverick". I had already seen her on the red carpet but I didn't manage to take any pictures, however she looked super stunning, with a beautiful black dress that let you notice something: She's pretty skinny. My theory is that, since she's a method actress, she's immersed in her next starring role in the Joker sequel, "Joker: Folie à Deux". I also mention that a friend passed along the photo of how vulnerable Gaga looked, I couldn't help but attach it.
When it was her time to sing, I was totally impressed, because on the carpet and during the ceremony, she was wearing her beautiful dress and spectacular makeup, but the moment she got on stage, the world stopped; there was Lady Gaga without a single drop of makeup, with simple clothes, some cracked and parched lips that did what she wanted: a highly personal presentation that made us connect with her soul, with just her voice she managed to make everyone's skin crawl and get a standing ovation.👏🤩

Otra de las presentaciones que estaba anhelando a ver era la de Rihanna, cantaría la canción principal del soundtrack de “Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever”. La canción es magistral, y cuando la vez con la película lloras porque lloras, no hay manera de evitarlo. Rihanna lucía espectacular con su hermosa panza de embarazada, y cantó demasiado bien, nosotros casi que nos ponemos de pie para aplaudir aquella presentación tan icónica, Riri lo hizo de nuevo.❤️
Another performance I was looking forward to seeing was Rihanna's, she would sing the main song of the soundtrack of "Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever". The song is masterful, and when you watch it with the movie you cry because you cry, there is no way around it. Rihanna looked spectacular with her beautiful pregnant belly, and she sang so well, we almost stood up to applaud that iconic performance, Riri did it again.❤️

Los últimos premios nos tenían al borde del asiento, estábamos ansiosos por saber quien ganaría “Mejor Actriz”, pero sobre todo “Mejor Actor” y “Mejor Película”. Aunque no hemos visto “Todo En Todas Partes Al Mismo Tiempo” sabíamos que esa sería la gran ganadora de la noche. Y donde estuvimos muy emocionados por el ganador fue en la categoría de “Mejor Actor”, todos gritamos de emoción cuando Brendan Fraser fue el gran galardonado.
Finalmente, en mejor película ganó la que todas las predicciones apuntaban, y la verdad que me pareció genial, me hizo muy feliz ver a todos los mayores ganadores y a los resultados de los premios. Aunque deseaba con todo mi corazón que Lady Gaga ganara su segunda categoría en “Mejor Canción Original”, pero la ganadora lo tenía merecido y al final de cuentas Lady Gaga sigue siendo de lo mejor de la noche y de lo más comentado.🌟🏆
The last awards had us on the edge of our seats, we were anxious to know who would win "Best Actress", but most of all "Best Actor" and "Best Picture". Although we haven't seen "Everywhere Everywhere All At Once" we knew that would be the big winner of the night. And where we were very excited about the winner was in the "Best Actor" category, we all screamed with excitement when Brendan Fraser was the big winner.
Finally, in Best Picture the one that all the predictions were pointing to won, and I thought it was great, it made me very happy to see all the major winners and the results of the awards. Although I wished with all my heart that Lady Gaga would win her second category in "Best Original Song", but the winner deserved it and at the end of the day Lady Gaga is still one of the best of the night and the most talked about.🌟🏆

Al final del día nos acostamos súper tarde para despertar un lunes bien temprano a comenzar con nuestra rutina. ¿Valió la pena? Absolutamente, fue una increíble premiación, incluso diré que tenía tiempo sin disfrutar tanto de una ceremonia de premios, y no lo digo solo porque Lady Gaga estuviera nominada, hizo presentación y estaba en el público siendo la hermosa mujer que es y que tanto amo. Disfrutamos los premios, los perros y un agradable rato en familia donde las risas no pudieron faltar.

At the end of the day we went to bed super late to wake up early on a Monday to start our routine. Was it worth it? Absolutely, it was an amazing award ceremony, I will even say that I had not enjoyed an award ceremony for a long time, and I am not just saying that because Lady Gaga was nominated, she made a presentation and was in the audience being the beautiful woman she is and that I love so much. We enjoyed the awards, the hot dogs and a nice family time where laughter could not be missing.
