Saben que yo les comente que ya tuve la primera reunion para terminar los detalles de lo que va a ser mi graduación proximamente en ella se discutio acerca de quien va a ser el padrino, yo personalmente quería que fuera mi tutor de tesis pero resulta que la universidad tiene una politica que ya cuando fuiste padrino no puedes repetir y ya el había sido asi que yo converse con el y me dijo que gracias por tomarlo en cuenta pero había un profe que también se porto muy bien conmigo y nunca lo habían tomado en cuenta que el voto que yo le iba a dar a el se lo diera a este profesor.
Hi there, how’s it going, everyone? How are you all? How’s your day been? I hope it’s been good. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hungry all day, hahahaha. I’m going mad, hahaha, I don’t know why, but it’s true.
You know I mentioned that I’ve already had the first meeting to finalise the details of my upcoming graduation? At that meeting, we discussed who the supervisor would be. personally, I wanted it to be my thesis supervisor, but it turns out the university has a policy that once you’ve been a sponsor, you can’t do it again, and he’d already been one, so I spoke to him and he said thanks for considering him, but there was a lecturer who’d also been really good to me and they’d never considered him before, so he suggested I give the vote I was going to give him to this lecturer instead.
Resulta que yo sí me llevé bien con este profesor y él es el tutor de pasantías de todas las carreras; se trata del magíster Inocente Rodríguez, con el que me llevé superbién, tanto que él fue jurado en mi exposición de tesis y, luego de terminar y felicitarme, hasta me ofreció que, si continuaba la carrera, él me podía ayudar con mi nueva tesis.
Originalmente, se pensó hacerle la propuesta con un detalle, pero la coordinadora de graduación nos dijo que el detalle lo dejáramos para la graduación, algo más elaborado, y que la petición fuera algo más sencillo, ya que lo material no era todo.
It turns out I did get on well with this lecturer, and he’s the internship supervisor for all the degree programmes; his name is Inocente Rodríguez, and I got on really well with him – so much so that he was on the panel for my thesis presentation and, after I’d finished and he’d congratulated me, he even offered to help me with my new thesis if I carried on with the course.
Originally, we’d planned to present the proposal with a small gift, but the graduation coordinator told us to save the gift for the graduation ceremony—something a bit more elaborate—and to keep the request simple, as material things weren’t everything.
Me molesto un poco porque de 55 graduandos 10 personas dijieron que se acercarían a la uni y solo terminamos llegando 8 a dar la noticia cosa que hubiera sido mas bonito mas gente, en fin, nos organizamos para proyectarle un video en el tv muy lindo con nuestras propias palabras diciendole el exelentente profe que era y nuestra decisión asi mismo decoramos con globos y se realizo una propuesta formal con una carta, finalmente dijo que si y fue tan emotivo el momento que casi llora jajajaja de verdad fue un día para nunca olvidar, además que recorde lo que era comerme mis empanaditas en la uni, fue un gran día para nosotros ¡Saludos!
I was a bit annoyed because, out of 55 graduates, 10 people said they’d come to the uni, but in the end only 8 of us turned up to break the news – it would have been nicer if more people had been there. Anyway, we organised ourselves to show him a lovely video on the TV with our own words telling him what an excellent teacher he was and explaining our decision. We also decorated the place with balloons and made a formal proposal with a letter. Finally, he said yes, and it was such an emotional moment that he almost cried, ha ha ha. It really was a day to remember forever. plus it reminded me of what it was like to eat my little pasties at uni. It was a great day for us. Cheers!
