Mothers keep the home glowing, the budget going, and the real talk flowing.
To My Favorite rapper but a very dangerous nagger. Happy Mother's Day, my beloved Mama Ending. Your love, care and support are always and forever be appreciated. I know the words "thank you" will never be enough for all your sacrifices. Please know that we always love and care for you and papa even when things aren't going smoothly. I am humbly praying and working to succeed soon- so I can give you the worry-free, comfortable life that you wanted and the life that I wanted for you both. May God grant you a good health and happiness in everything that you do.
Nothing beats a mother's genuine love and care. I can't imagine life without my mom's guidance.
Ever since we were kids, we have lived on a peaceful, simple farm with no technology, no infrastructures and unavailable necessities. I don't remember a single celebration where we ate out. If we had a little budget, we would just buy something special to cook at home- and honestly, that was more than enough.
As we grew up, my sister and I really love cooking- even when ingredients and equipments were lacking. So for Mother's Day we plan something special. We don't eat meat everyday, so we figured... we all deserve a little meat, right?
I marinated the chicken early and cook it just in time for dinner. My sister wanted to make pizza for Mama, but she had a Church program that day. So we prepare all her ingredients ahead.
Mama asked me to gather fire wood for cooking, so I check around the house. In the grassy area, there was Papa's old squash plant. It stopped giving fruit last month, and I figured it was about to die- so I'd stopped checking. For some reason I clean the area. I lifted old metal thing(yero) covering the wood and the weeds... and there it was. A huge, ripe squash, still perfect, just hiding underneath. Wow, I was like 'what a lucky one'. It had been months since our last harvest. That hidden squash gave us one last gift- just in time for Mother's Day but sadly we don't have ingredients to make a squash dessert.
The "firewood" I grabbed turned out to be a bully pomelo branches- and yes it fought back, lol. I got a few scratches from the thorns. But it's fine, as long as it will caught fire fast and got the cooking pan going. Worth it for cooking our dinner.
Not long after I found the Squash under the metal(yero), my siblings arrived. With everyone home, I started preparing dinner so we could finish early and eat together.
A simple homemade pizza and Chicken Inasal with sprinkles of love.
It's funny how my sister made her pizza- in a cooking pan(kawali)- but amazing, it still tasted good. For only ₱120, we had homemade pizza. We didn't keep the blessing to ourselves. We sent plates to our neighbor, and to our eldest sibling who lives separately.
That Mothers Day, we celebrated with full stomachs, grateful heart and the kind of laughter you only get when everyone's enjoying.
This ends my blog. Thanks for reading and stopping by to celebrate Mother's Day with us and Mama Ending. Love lots. (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS OUT THERE! I WISH YOU HAPPINESS AND GOOD HEALTH.
