Sometimes, routine and the demands of work absorb us to such an extent that our plans become our only reality, pushing what is truly important into the background: our relationships and, above all, our family. However, today I experienced one of those magical moments that arise out of nowhere and serve to remind us of what really gives meaning to our daily lives.
It all began with a seemingly routine morning: I took the children to school and met my wife at the clinic, where she was going for a routine check-up. What could have been a simple wait at the doctor’s gradually turned into a much-needed break. After her tests were finished, we headed to the Costa Azul Shopping Centre. There, over a coffee and a leisurely chat, time began to lose that sense of urgency that usually dominates us.
Our journey continued to Río Supermarket. Amidst buying medicines and groceries for the home, an unexpected invitation arose: to stay for lunch. It was at that very moment that the magic happened. We put our obligations aside and allowed ourselves to enjoy a simple meal: a broccoli and cauliflower salad, beef in black sauce and a mixed rice dish, yet one of incalculable value.
That space, which at times had felt empty, filled with laughter, camaraderie and a connection we needed to revitalise. We rounded off the gathering with an ice cream, the perfect finishing touch to a restorative day.
In the end, I am left with the certainty that the best moments are not the ones we plan, but the ones we allow to happen. It was such an authentic and unforgettable experience that I certainly hope to repeat it, letting life surprise us in the same way: without plans, just with the desire to be together.

A veces, la rutina y la carga laboral nos absorben de tal manera que lo planificado se convierte en nuestra única realidad, desplazando a un segundo plano lo verdaderamente importante: nuestras relaciones y, sobre todo, la familia. Sin embargo, hoy viví uno de esos momentos mágicos que surgen de la nada y que sirven para recordarnos lo que realmente da sentido a nuestro día a día.
Todo comenzó con una mañana aparentemente rutinaria: acompañé a los niños al liceo y me encontré con mi esposa en la clínica, donde acudía por un chequeo preventivo. Lo que pudo ser una simple espera médica, se transformó poco a poco en una pausa necesaria. Tras concluir sus exámenes, nos dirigimos al Centro Comercial Costa Azul. Allí, entre un café y una conversación pausada, el tiempo empezó a perder esa prisa que suele dominarnos.
El recorrido continuó hacia Río Supermarket. Entre la compra de medicamentos y los víveres para el hogar, surgió una invitación inesperada: quedarnos a comer. Fue en ese preciso instante donde la magia ocurrió. Dejamos de lado las obligaciones y nos permitimos disfrutar de una comida sencilla: ensalada de brócoli y coliflor, carne en salsa negra y un arroz mixto, pero cargada de un valor incalculable.
Ese espacio, que por momentos sentíamos vacío, se llenó de risas, complicidad y una conexión que necesitábamos revitalizar. Cerramos el encuentro con un helado que fue el broche de oro de una jornada reparadora.
Al final, me queda la certeza de que los mejores momentos no son los que se agendan, sino los que se permiten suceder. Fue una experiencia tan auténtica e inolvidable que, sin duda, espero volver a repetir, dejando que la vida nos sorprenda de la misma manera: sin planes, solo con el deseo de estar juntos.
