La vida está llena de momentos hermosos que siempre queremos disfrutar con nuestros seres queridos, la culminación de una etapa académica viene acompañada de mucha alegría, satisfacción y orgullo. A su vez, está meta se celebra con Acto académico en el cual se otorga un certificado y una medalla a quien está terminando una etapa académica.

Cómo ya muchos de ustedes saben soy docente de educación media, al igual que universitaria, por lo que me ha tocado acompañar a muchos jóvenes a través de su paso por estás etapas. Nosotros como institución nos preparamos todo el año para este día, porque además del acto es el día de cierre del año escolar y le damos la bienvenida a las vacaciones. Es por ello, que para la familia Javeriana (todos los que trabajamos en la institución) es nuestro día especial, en el que realizamos un compartir en un buen restaurante y nos vestimos de gala.
Hoy quiero hablarles un poco de este día, el cual fue un excelente tiempo de calidad entre amigos y compañeros de trabajo. Unos días antes nos reunimos para decidir quienes serían los maestros de ceremonia, el encargado del discurso y el sitio donde iríamos después de terminado el acto; al final todo quedó planificado y ya solo quedaba arreglarnos para ese día.
As many of you already know, I am a high school teacher, as well as a university teacher, so I have had the opportunity to accompany many young people through these stages. We as an institution prepare all year long for this day, because in addition to the ceremony, it is the closing day of the school year and we welcome the vacations. That is why, for the Javeriana family (all of us who work in the institution) it is our special day, in which we share in a good restaurant and we dress up.
Today I want to tell you a little about this day, which was an excellent quality time with friends and coworkers. A few days before we met to decide who would be the masters of ceremony, who would be in charge of the speech and the place where we would go after the event was over; in the end everything was planned and we only had to get ready for that day.
El Acto de Grado se encontraba pautado para las 9 am por lo que debíamos estar allá a las 8 am. Se deben organizar a los familiares quienes son las primeras personas que ingresan, para luego con un fuerte aplauso se reciben a los graduandos. No obstante mientras se organiza todo dentro del auditorio en la antesala aprovechamos para tomarnos unas fotos lindas.
The graduation ceremony was scheduled for 9 am so we had to be there at 8 am. We had to organize the family members who were the first people to enter, and then with a loud applause the graduates were received. However, while everything was being organized inside the auditorium in the anteroom, we took the opportunity to take some nice pictures.
Ya después que comienza el acto, se cierran las puertas del auditorio y empiezan todas las actividades protocolares como cantar el himno, el discurso del epónimo, petición de títulos, conferimiento de títulos e imposición de medallas y entrega de reconocimientos. Una vez culminado el acto personalmente le agradecí a mis estudiantes que se encuentran en pasantías por brindar el apoyo como personal de protocolo.
After the ceremony begins, the auditorium doors close and all the protocol activities begin, such as the singing of the hymn, the eponymous speech, the request for titles, the conferring of titles, the imposition of medals and the presentation of awards. Once the ceremony was over, I personally thanked my students who are in internships for their support as protocol personnel.
Después viene la mejor parte, la del compartir, para ello nos distribuimos en los carros para ir hasta el lugar, pero como había mucho calor los muchachos se pararon a tomar algo para el calor (ustedes se imaginarán que fue) para después continuar con nuestro camino.
Then comes the best part, the sharing, for this we distributed ourselves in the cars to go to the place, but as it was very hot the guys stopped to drink something for the heat (you can imagine what it was) and then continue on our way.
Llegamos a un restaurante muy prestigioso ubicado al este de Barquisimeto llamado Caffe 90. Allí teníamos reservado un salón en el sótano, comenzamos a conversar y a compartir entre nosotros, aprovechamos de tomarnos algunas fotografías para el recuerdo y yo no desaproveche la oportunidad para retratarme con este mini caballero llamado Leandro quien es el bebé de una querida amiga.
We arrived at a very prestigious restaurant located east of Barquisimeto called Caffe 90. There we had reserved a room in the basement, we began to talk and share with each other, we took the opportunity to take some pictures for the memory and I did not miss the opportunity to take a picture with this mini gentleman named Leandro who is the baby of a dear friend.
Sin embargo, existe algo que debo contarles y es que la comida realmente no me gustó la comida. Lamentablemente no le tome fotos, pero la ensalada era muy poca para el precio, se trataba de una ensalada césar la cual solo tenía lechuga y aderezo; aparte ofrecen una parrilla para tres personas que en realidad es para dos, desafortunadamente le colocan demasiadas papas fritas y poca proteína. Ahora bien, algo muy positivo de los venezolanos es que nada nos quita la alegría y es que después de comer nos seguimos sacando fotos y celebrando la culminación de otro año escolar.
However, there is something I must tell you and that is that I really did not like the food. Unfortunately I did not take pictures, but the salad was very little for the price, it was a caesar salad which only had lettuce and dressing; besides they offer a grill for three people which is really for two, unfortunately they put too many french fries and little protein. However, something very positive about Venezuelans is that nothing takes away our joy and after eating we continue taking pictures and celebrating the culmination of another school year.
Pero la realidad es que quedamos con hambre, así que después de allí un grupo pequeño nos fuimos a otro sitio pues la verdad estábamos desesperados del hambre y todos llegamos a la conclusión: queremos una hamburguesa 🤣🤣🤣. Así que llegamos a un lugar llamado A Cielo Abierto, algunas chicas pidieron un tobo de cervezas y pues todas nos comimos las respectivas hamburguesas para poder completar la comida.
But the reality is that we were hungry, so after there a small group of us went to another place because the truth is that we were desperately hungry and we all came to the conclusion: we want a burger 🤣🤣🤣🤣. So we got to a place called A Cielo Abierto, some girls ordered a bunch of beers and we all ate the respective burgers to complete the meal.
No obstante, fue un buen tiempo de calidad, pudimos compartir entre todos nosotros y además acompañar a los chicos en el cierre de una etapa… Felicidades a los nuevos bachilleres y a nosotros por resistir otro año escolar.
Nevertheless, it was a good quality time, we were able to share among all of us and also to accompany the kids in the closing of a stage... Congratulations to the new high school graduates and to us for resisting another school year.
