Hello everyone from the community. I hope you're all well and safe with your families and friends.
Today, I’m sharing a little story about our family date or as we like to call it our Sundate. It’s been a while since we went out together, so this Sunday felt like the perfect day to unwind and make a few memories.
After attending church early in the morning, we had our breakfast at home and rested for a bit. Around 9 a.m. we got ready to head to Talacogon, our neighboring town.
Unfortunately, our youngest baby Yusef, couldn’t come along this time because it was too hot and we only had our motorcycle for the ride. So, it was just the three of us, my husband, our daughter Yashfeen, and me
We chose Talacogon because they’re preparing for their upcoming Pangadu Festival, and we thought it would be nice to visit before school work keeps us busy again. True enough, there were lots of stalls and displays already set up. There are clothes and accessories to food and trinkets. The whole place felt festive even before the official celebration.
We first stopped by the food stalls for a quick snac. My husband got a burger, I chose a hotdog, and Yashfeen enjoyed her fries. To top it off, we shared an ube-flavored ice cream from our favorite local brand. It was the perfect cool treat for such a hot day.
As we continued walking, Yashfeen spotted a trampoline nearby. Her eyes instantly lit up and she got so excited to try it. Sadly, we found out that the trampoline only opens during the night. When we explained this to her, she almost cried and was on the verge of throwing a little tantrum.
But since she doesn’t like getting attention from a crowd, we were able to calm her down. I felt really proud when she said, “Can I have it later then?” It is showing that she already understood the situation. Such a small but proud mom moment for me.
After that, we wandered a little until we reached Yashfeen’s favorite place. The baynte-baynte thrift stall. It's where everything costs only ₱20. She was so excited to look for her favorite Kurumi bubbles and luckily there was still one left, haha. She was really happy holding her little souvenir from our short trip.
By then, the sun was blazing, and my husband joked that he was about to melt, haha! So, we decided to head home before lunch. Even though it was a quick outing it was filled with joy and simple happiness. Especially seeing Yashfeen happy and learning to handle her emotions so well.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading this far. Til my next post!
