Hello, my dear Hivers!
Today, I’ll be sharing with you the continuation of my previous blog, where I’ll be highlighting the moment we finally arrived at my relatives house.
When we got there, Uncle greeted us right away and had a short chat with my dad. Another uncle of mine wasn’t there yet since he had gone to buy something from a nearby store. So, we waited for a few minutes. While waiting, I noticed my siblings taking pictures, and of course, since I also love having my photo taken, especially when I’m in the mood, I told my sister to take a picture of me too.
And here’s the shot.
As you can see, it was already nighttime when we arrived, really dark. Catmon is quite far from Ilihan, after all.
A few minutes later, the uncle who went to the store finally arrived. Then, my younger sister and I started walking ahead. My mother said, “Why are you going ahead, ate? Do you even know the way?” And my aunt added, “They’ve already been here before,” and we replied, “Yes, Ma.”
We had to go up a tall staircase on the way. Concrete steps, though some were already ruined. That is my father often reminding us, "be careful with every step. Use your phone's flashlight for good visibility on the stairs."
Upstairs, we could already see the roadside view. To add, the sea was just across the place, but we were not interested in visiting it or going for a swim as it was low tide at that time.
After we finished going down the stairs, we passed by some big trees. The place had a lot of stones, and the mud there sparkled, it was really nice.
A few minutes later, we finally arrived. Our little cousin happily welcomed us and gave us a blesss right away. Another thing that welcomed us was their colorful disco lights and someone singing karaoke.
We hung out outside for a bit, and I also gave bless to the other relatives. They had started talking and updating each other. Then suddenly, a few minutes later, there was a blackout. But that didn’t stop us, we still ate because we were already very hungry. Before anyone initiated dinner, I told Mama that I needed to go to the comfort room first, so I went with my sister.
When I came back, Auntie handed me a paper plate. Good thing there was still a flashlight, so even during the blackout, we could still see the delicious food. I got some lechon before anything. I was even willing to asked Mama for a little piece after not being able to get crispy skin, which I think is the best part.
Their lechon was really tasty and juicy, which I love!
The lights didn’t come back on the whole time we were eating, still a blackout.
Luckily, after we finished eating, the power came back! And since the videoke was working again, I joined the group to sing. The people with me were my relatives too. This was the first time I really socialized and joined in, because I just recently realized I actually know how to sing, and not in a flat or off key way, haha!
After about an hour of singing, we decided to head back home since it was already getting late.
And this is it for today's blog, my dear Hivers! Thank you for reading!
