Hello, dear Hivers!
Ever since she was very little, she has been in our care because her mother works overseas. From the beginning, we welcomed her into our home and into our routines, and she instantly became part of our daily lives. Watching her grow from a tiny, curious girl into a smart and talented young woman has been a journey full of joy and meaningful memories.
I still remember the first photo I shared above. She was only six years old at that time—full of mischief, sweetness, and a natural love for posing in front of the camera. Even at that young age, she already had her own sense of style. She would stand in front of me, wanting her hair fixed and a little makeup done, giggling while waiting for the “final look.” She was such a lively ball of energy who asked endless questions about everything. Being with her felt like having sunshine inside the house every single day. She could make anyone smile with her innocence and her loud, bubbly personality.
Fast forward a few years, and suddenly she was already in Senior High School. This next photo tells a story of its own. Their Graduation Ball required something with glitter—a “sparkly” theme, as she described it. But at the last minute, she confessed to me that she didn’t have a gown that matched the requirement. I could see the worry in her eyes, and of course, I couldn’t let her attend that special night without feeling confident and beautiful. So, we bought a thin glittery fabric, and I decided to sew it onto her pink gown. It was a simple solution, but it turned out beautifully. Seeing her smile in that dress—made with love and last-minute creativity—was worth every bit of effort.
Whenever we go out together, one thing is guaranteed: endless selfies! She loves taking photos, but interestingly, she rarely posts anything on social media. She prefers to keep the pictures for herself, almost like little time capsules of memories she can look back on. I find that very sweet, especially in a world where everything is instantly shared online.
Now, time has flown faster than I ever expected. She is already a second-year nursing student at Cebu Institute of Technology–University (CIT-U). The photo below I shared was taken during their capping ceremony—a milestone that made all of us emotional and extremely proud. It feels like only yesterday that she was running around the house, laughing and asking countless questions. And now, here she is, stepping into a noble profession where compassion and strength are essential.
Despite all the changes and responsibilities that come with growing up, our bond has remained the same. She still talks to me, still shares her stories, and still makes me laugh with her humor. I am incredibly proud of her—not just because she’s talented and smart, but because she has grown into a kind, driven, and responsible young woman. She sings and dances beautifully too, something she definitely inherited from us (yes, we claim that proudly! LOL).
Watching her journey from childhood to adulthood has been one of the greatest blessings of our life. And I know this is just the beginning of her story. I’ll always be here, cheering her on through every milestone, every challenge, and every glittery moment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read. See you on my next blog.
