Una de las amistades más hermosas que existen es la que podemos establecer con las personas que tienen nuestra misma vocación, intereses y misiones parecidas, ya que de manera más cálida y propia podemos compartir los gozos, alegrías, retos e interrogantes de la misma. En el caso del sacerdocio, esto no es una excepción, más aún es quizá más necesario puesto que la fidelidad ante las exigencias del ministerio amerita un buen acompañamiento en el transcurso del camino, no sentirnos solos sino que hay otras personas que recibieron el llamado y respondieron al mismo, con unas experiencias de vida e historias que enriquecen nuestro propio caminar.
En este espiritu, la semana pasada tuve la oportunidad de participar en un compartir con sacerdotes cercanos a la parroquia donde sirvo, lo cual me llevó a reflexionar y revivir la importancia de la amistad y fraternidad sacerdotal, pues, nos lleva a salir un poco de la rutina y disfrutar de espacios para como hermanos en un mismo servicio recargar nuestras energías y renovar el compromiso a la misión que hemos asumido.
Compartimos un almuerzo en un sitio ya conocido en la ciudad, "La parrilla del Este", donde tuvimos tiempo suficiente para conversar y distraernos un poco. Y ya sólo hacer esto es un aliciente poderoso a nuestro espíritu para animarnos a seguir dando lo mejor en el camino que hemos elegido, donde hay muchísimas alegrías y gozos pero también tristezas y fuertes obstáculos que necesitamos mitigar o saber relativizar con herramientas que nos ayuden a resaltar más lo bello y hermoso que todo nuestro servicio conlleva, que siempre va a tener más peso e imponerse ante todo lo demás. A veces uno pasa por situaciones donde esto no lo ve tan claro, es cuando la sola presencia sincera de amigos y hermanos que han elegido tu mismo sendero marca una diferencia importante.
Particularmente, esta salida fue muy especial porque en realidad la teníamos planificada para diciembre, debido a las ocupaciones de cada uno, fue imposible cuadrar un día, no obstante, no permitimos pasarla por alto, sino que nos dispusimos, nos organizamos y la realizamos. A veces, se tiene la imagen del sacerdote como de un ser extraño, cuando no, somos humanos, de carne y hueso, con necesidades como todos los demás, fuimos creados también para establecer relaciones de fraternidad y llamados a la amistad , por ello, siempre que se puedan rescatar y resaltar la importancia de estos momentos hay que hacerlo.
Entre los asistentes, además de compañeros de trabajo cercanos en la zona, también he de resaltar nos encontramos gran parte de lo que fue el curso que aquí en Barquisimeto nos graduamos, en el año 2012. Fue un reencuentro súper especial en este sentido, tanto por le hecho de reunirnos de nuevo y recordar y contar anécdotas como compartir la alegría de que seguimos juntos en el mismo camino de servicio, a pesar de las diferencias en la historia que cada uno ha tenido desde hace ya 12 años que salimos de nuestros estudios.

One of the most beautiful friendships that exist is the one that we can establish with people who have the same vocation, interests, and similar missions, since in a warmer and more personal way we can share the joys, sorrows, challenges, and questions of it. In the case of the priesthood, this is not an exception, but it is perhaps even more necessary, since fidelity to the demands of the ministry deserves good accompaniment along the way, not feeling alone but that there are other people who received the call and responded to it, with life experiences and stories that enrich our own journey.
In this spirit, last week I had the opportunity to participate in a gathering with priests close to the parish where I serve, which led me to reflect and revive the importance of friendship and priestly fraternity, because it leads us to get out of the routine and enjoy spaces to recharge our energies and renew our commitment to the mission we have assumed.
We shared lunch at a well-known place in the city, "La parrilla del Este", where we had enough time to talk and distract ourselves a little. And just doing this is a powerful incentive to our spirit to encourage us to continue giving our best in the path we have chosen, where there are many joys and joys but also sadness and strong obstacles that we need to mitigate or know how to relativize with tools that help us highlight the beauty and beauty of all our service, which will always have more weight and impose itself over everything else. Sometimes you go through situations where you don't see it that clearly, it is when the sincere presence of friends and brothers who have chosen your same path makes a significant difference.
Particularly, this outing was very special because in reality we had it planned for December, but due to the busy schedules of each one, it was impossible to schedule a day. However, we did not allow it to pass by, but we set ourselves up, organized ourselves, and carried it out. Sometimes, the image of the priest is that of a strange being, when in fact, we are human, made of flesh and blood, with needs like everyone else, we were created also to establish relationships of fraternity and called to friendship, therefore, whenever the importance of these moments can be rescued and highlighted, it must be done.
Among the attendees, in addition to close work colleagues in the area, I must also highlight that we met a large part of what was the course that we graduated here in Barquisimeto in 2012. It was a super special reunion in this sense, both because of the fact of meeting again and remembering and telling anecdotes as sharing the joy that we continue together on the same path of service, despite the differences in the history that each one has had for 12 years since we left our studies.
