We are living in Compostela, which is a few hours distance from Medellin. To most people, that would be somewhat of a hassle, but for us, that was an adventure in itself. We decided to make the trip in a private car, and luckily, some of my relatives have one, so all the way, it felt like some kind of mini road trip. We had songs playing and everybody talking, as well as obviously some snacks just to munch around during the journey. It therefore was not this long trip since it was more or less a joy ride, plus the excitement merely built up towards our destination as we got there.
Aisle of Medellin
The moment I arrived in Medellin, I knew it would be worth it. We were greeted by a stunning view that made us stop in our tracks. The view was just so breathtaking that we couldn't help but had to make a quick stop to take some shots. This was just what we needed to kick off the day and get into the day's adventure. That view was what we couldn't have enough of, so shot after shot was taken to capture the beauty of this moment.
Bamboo Forest
Our next stop was the Bamboo Forest, and let me tell you guys, it was absolutely magical! The moment we went into the forest, it was cooler, and everything felt so refreshing. It was as if we had been taken to another world. The tall stalks of bamboo surrounded us, forming this natural canopy filtering the sun's rays in such a beautiful view. The whole place was just so serene and tranquil, and we couldn't stop taking many pictures to capture the beauty of the forest.
Walking through the bamboo trees, we felt like we were part of some old fairytale. Tall bamboos swayed with the breeze, and the sound was so soothing. We couldn't help but take in the scenery and enjoy the quiet moments in between snapping photos. It was one of those places where you just love just relax for awhile, and inhale freshness of the surroundings and appreciate the nature around.
We had the most fun just walking around and it felt like every corner gave us a brilliant photo opportunity. Aside from the beautiful surroundings, it was also a perfect place for a great bonding time for my family.
We spent the whole day enjoying the beauty of the surroundings, taking pictures, and just being together. It's moments like these that remind me of how important family is and how much joy these simple trips can bring. I mean, there's something so special about being in a place like this, and ofcourse, with the people you love.
After taking what felt like a million photos at the Bamboo Forest, we decided to explore a bit more of Medellin. We visited some of the local spots, and truthfully, every place we went had its own charm, from the people to the scenery, it was all so inviting. It was just so laid-back, and we could feel the stresses of daily life slowly melting away.
I also must mention how nice it was to get away from the hustle and bustle of things. In fact, Medellin will always be one of the best destinations for anyone in search of quiet time away from city life. Be it nature, photography, or some quality time with your loved ones, there is something for everyone. We did not have any set plans or tight schedules, so we were able to relax and enjoy the experience as it came.
It wasn't until the end of the day that we realized just how much we had seen and how much fun we had all shared together. No more long ride, because the memories we made totally paid off. I will always have a special place in my heart for Medellin, and I hope to visit it again with my family soon.
What I really liked about the whole trip was how simple and meaningful everything was. Sometimes, we think big, elaborate trips-or even big trips with big actions-are fun, but speaking sincerely, little moments make all the difference. The sitting together inside the car while viewing the vista or laughing at silly jokes; every second turned out to be special.
So, if you want to have a quick retreat packed with nature and family fun, I really recommend visiting Medellin, Cebu. It is not just a place with breathtaking views and peaceful spots but also a place that brings people closer. The moments we will have built within them will be with me always, and I'm already looking ahead to our next adventure.
