Good day, to my loving community!
This is me again, sharing another simple yet meaningful story from my day-to-day life. Today, I just wanted to tell you a story about our day—nothing too grand, nothing too fancy—but filled with love, bonding, and the kind of happiness that quietly stays in your heart. This blog is all about my son’s simple happiness and my little flex doings for today as a mom, a wife, and a woman who finds joy in ordinary moments.
Today is Saturday here, and Saturdays are always special for our family. My husband has no work, which means we get to spend more time together. No rush, no pressure—just pure family time. For me, this kind of day is already a blessing. Time with family is something very precious, and I always treasure moments like this.
Earlier today, my husband and my son went outside to buy milk. My son is only three years old, but one thing is very clear about him—he always wants to go with his daddy. Every time his dad goes out, whether it’s just to buy food or something small, my son will always say he wants to “sama.” He loves being with his father, and seeing that kind of bond makes my heart so happy.
They bought Similac milk for my dearest son, and unexpectedly, the milk had a toy gift inside. When they opened it at home, my son became very excited. His eyes sparkled with happiness because the toy inside was lego—his favorite. Ever since he was younger, he has loved building things. Of course, at his age, he doesn’t fully know how to make complex lego designs yet, but he already knows a little, and that alone makes me proud.
What made this moment even more special was seeing my husband sit beside him, patiently guiding and teaching him how to make lego. They were both focused, laughing, and enjoying every second. Sometimes the lego pieces would fall apart, but instead of getting upset, they would just smile and try again. This kind of bonding is priceless. As parents, we are very supportive of our son’s interests in every way we can. We believe that supporting him now helps build his confidence and creativity as he grows.
While they were busy bonding and making lego together, I was on the other side doing my own activities. I was having my little “me time” by doing my nails. This is one of the things I enjoy doing during my free time, especially while waiting for my class scheduled at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon and later in the evening. Even small moments like this help me relax and recharge.
At the same time, I was also busy with my work. Seeing that I was busy, my husband surprised me with something sweet—he gave me a cassava cake that he bought outside. He smiled and told me, “Kain ka muna habang busy ka sa work mo.” That simple gesture really touched my heart. I ate the cassava cake while continuing my work, and it felt extra special because it came from him. Sometimes love is shown not through big words, but through small actions like this.
As I worked, did my nails, and enjoyed the cassava cake, I could still hear my husband and son laughing and talking while playing with lego. That sound alone made me feel contented. It reminded me that even if I am busy, I am surrounded by love and care. This balance of family time, work, and personal time is something I truly appreciate.
These simple joys have a very big part in my heart. This is the life I have always wanted—to have bonding moments as a family, to see my son genuinely happy, and to feel supported by my husband even on ordinary days. Happiness doesn’t always come from expensive things or big celebrations. Sometimes, it comes from a box of milk with a toy inside, from a father teaching his son patiently, and from a husband sharing a slice of cassava cake with his busy wife.
Because it is Saturday and my husband has no work, we were able to enjoy these moments together again. I am very thankful for days like this. Life can be tiring, routines can be exhausting, but moments like these remind me why everything is worth it.
Thank you once again, Hive community, for taking the time to read my blog. I hope you felt the warmth and simplicity of our day through my words. May we all continue to appreciate the small things, cherish our loved ones, and find happiness in everyday moments.
God bless us all. 💛
