Hi, good day to all of you! For today’s blog, I want to share with you my experience during a 2-day bonding with my classmates, watching the provincial meet in Naga City. I have a question for you: do you have classmates who are always with you during meals, teasing, and in everything else? Yes, I have classmates who have become personal friends of mine. I didn't expect to become so close to them because during online classes, it's not that easy to make friends. I am thankful that when we finally had face-to-face classes, we all got to know each other.
DAY 1
Early in the morning, I traveled to our school because we had classes from 7 am to 10 am. When I arrived at our classroom, I saw some of my classmates who arrived early like me, and there was no flag ceremony yet. So we chatted about anything, just like what we usually do every day after the flag ceremony. After that, our class started and the class ended we had a vacant period from 10 am to 12 pm.
We planned to have our research paper checked during this time, but when we went to see our professor, he weren't there. As we walked near the gate, we saw some athletes, and that's when we found out that the provincial meet had already started here in Naga.
We decided to go to the oval to watch an event, and when we arrived, they were just getting ready. While waiting for the event to start, we discussed what to do next. Then, one of our classmates suggested that we go to a gym where there was a basketball game happening.
We walked towards the Ecac gym, which was quite a distance away. When we arrived, the basketball event had already started.
As I watched the players, I could see their determination to win the event. It reminded me of when I used to play basketball and how I missed it. However, I couldn't play anymore because I easily get tired now since it's been a long time since I stopped playing.
After watching, we grabbed some food, then headed back to our school because we still had a class at 1 pm. When we got to our room, we played a game of Magic Chess in Mobile Legends. It was so much fun because there was teasing going on, especially since Magic Chess is an individual game where everyone in the lobby, whether ranked or in a custom game, is your opponent. So, you're only allied with yourself. It's really enjoyable when this kind of bonding happens with your classmates.
DAY 2
We had classes from 7 am to 12 pm, but we finished early around 9 am, so we had a lot of free time. We decided to go back to the ECAC gym to watch again. However, what's funny is that I got left behind because I had to grab something, and they thought I wouldn't join them. So, they walked ahead without me. When I realized they were no longer at our school, I asked our group chat where they were, and that's when I found out they were already at the gym.
As I walked to the gym, I noticed that we had more people with us compared to day 1 because some of our other classmates joined us to watch. While we were watching, my classmates suddenly started betting, but it was just a small amount, like for fun only, just 1 peso each for buying water from the water vending machine.
While San Fernando and Danao were playing, the game was extremely close. Everyone was giving their all just to win, and physicality is inevitable when it comes to basketball. Because if you let yourself be affected and start trouble, you're no longer a true player. To all basketball players out there, don't think of retaliation when you get hurt during the game because the purpose of playing is to have fun and not to cause trouble. Always remember that if you have a low mentality, you won't progress in the game.
REFLECTION
In reflecting on these two days of bonding and experiences with friends and classmates, it becomes evident that the moments we spend together hold immense value and significance. From the simple conversations in the classroom to the excitement of watching sporting events, each interaction contributes to the fabric of our relationships and memories. Through these experiences, we are reminded of the importance of cherishing the time we have with loved ones. Life is fleeting, and opportunities to create lasting memories are precious. Whether it's sharing laughter over a game or cheering on athletes with fervor, every moment is an opportunity to connect and find joy in each other's. Thank you readers for reading my experiences.
