Bonding with Friends: Enjoying Halo-Halo and BBQ Together
Even before we graduated, my circle of friends had already planned to have a get-together after graduation. But since we all have different lives and priorities, everyone became busy after grad. Some went on vacation with their families, while others were not allowed to go out. Because of that, our plan kept getting postponed since it always ended up getting cancelled.
Luckily, one of our friends suggested that only those who were available should go out since we were already getting bored staying at home. At that time only four of us were free. We decided to have a halo-halo date first, then have dinner by the beach and eat barbecue. Even though we were only four, everything still went well, and I'm glad our plan finally pushed through.
HALO-HALO
Our first stop was SOLS Halo-Halo, and it was actually our first time going there. Lorene arrived first, followed by me, then Micah, and AJ came last, as always, he really has a habit of being late no matter what. We ended up waiting for AJ before ordering.
Good thing our orders arrived really fast, it arrived for less than 5 minutes, so we didn't have to wait long. I would honestly rate their service a solid 10/10 because they were very quick and efficient. The appearance of the halo-halo was also 10/10, it looked so good and appetizing that I already expected it to taste delicious. And when I finally tried it, it really did not disappoint, it was so tasty, 10/10 for the flavor as well. I would definitely recommend it to others.
After finishing our halo-halo, we decided to just walk going to the beach instead of riding a vehicle since the fare was already expensive. They even said it could count as our exercise anyway since it wasn’t that far. So we just walked together while talking and enjoying the moment on our way to LAPYAHAN.
LAPYAHAN
When we arrived at the beach, since we were still full, we just sat and watched the sunset first. The sunset there was really beautiful, and I don’t get to see it often because my parents are quite strict about these things. But whenever I do get the chance to see it, it always looks so stunning and calming.
We also took some pictures while waiting for the sun to fully set. It was really fun capturing the moment together, laughing and posing while enjoying the view. The atmosphere felt so calm and special, like we just wanted to keep that moment forever.
After that, we started feeling hungry again, so we decided to order barbecue. Then we unexpectedly saw Lorene’s mom, and it was really embarrassing in a good way because she treated and paid for all of our food. Big thanks to Lorene’s mom for the treat.
While waiting for our order, we made the most of the moment again and took more pictures together, just enjoyinng the time and each other’s company.
We were also treated by Lorene’s mom to some Korean food. Since I’m not really a fan of Korean dishes, I just let them eat mine instead. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I really don’t like Korean food no matter how I try. Still, I appreciated the gesture and let my friends enjoy it while I stuck to the food I liked.
Back to Being a Kid
After we ate, we waited for Micah's parents since we were going to ride home with them. While waiting, we played with the kids near the grassy area. It was such a happy moment because I felt like I was back to being a child again, carefree, laughing, and just enjoying simple things.
We are also very thankful to Micah's parents for giving us a ride home and safely dropping us off. We really appreciate their kindness and help.
It really feels good to bond with friends because you get to create memories together. Even though our group wasn’t complete, we still enjoyed the day and made it special. We’re also planning a part 2 of our hangout with those who weren’t able to join this time, and hopefully next time we will be complete so we can all enjoy and make more memories together.
That would be all. Thank you for reading!
