Hello, my dear Hive friends! I hope you’re all doing well today. I want to share with you an unexpected experience we had just this afternoon; one that started with a sudden emergency but ended with relief, gratitude, and even a little neighborhood bonding.
Just after lunch, our entire subdivision was caught off guard by a sudden loss of electricity. At first, we were puzzled, but my neighbor quickly informed me of the reason: one of the posts with a transformer had broken. Curious and concerned, we went to see it with our own eyes.
Thankfully, the transformer didn’t fall to the ground. Otherwise, it could have caused a fire, according to the people around. The residents acted fast, reporting the incident immediately to the Homeowners Association Office. The HOA officers wasted no time and urgently called the MERALCO hotline to report the issue.
Within minutes, MERALCO staff arrived to fix everything. While waiting for the electricity to be restored, my neighbor friends decided to stay outside my gate since it was too hot inside their houses. We shared short talks, enjoyed cold Coke, and munched on DingDong snacks from my stockpile. Cardo, meanwhile, stayed inside the gate, watching us like a little guardian.
It was a simple but heartwarming moment, turning an inconvenience into a chance to connect and laugh together.
By past 5 PM, the power supply was finally restored. My neighbors bid farewell, and I went back inside to plug in the internet, CCTV, refrigerator, and stand fan. What started as a stressful situation ended with relief and appreciation for the quick response of MERALCO, the alertness of our community, and the small joys of spending time with friends.
Thank you, Hive friends, for reading my little story today. Emergencies remind us of the importance of community, preparedness, and gratitude. I’m thankful for the people around me and for the chance to share this experience with all of you here.
