Hello everyone, this is me again, , back with another exciting blog to share!
Today’s blog is not just an ordinary one. Let’s just say it was super fun, exhausting, and a lot of unexpected things happened during this time. It was also another first for me.
Last February, I went back to the city to do some important errands related to college, and my father and I stayed there for 3 days. During those 3 days in the city, there was not a single day that I felt bored. Although I mostly felt nervous the whole time, I was able to handle it, hehe!
Anyway, let me start by saying that it was actually my first time going around Cebu with only a friend. Yes, you can call me OA or whatever, but like what I mentioned in my previous blogs about Cebu City, I don’t get to visit the city often. I usually go there again and again only because of important errands related to college, and my dad is always with me whenever we go around the city since I’m not familiar with most places.
Then one of my friends, who is also my schoolmate, invited me to go out because she was also in the city for some important errands. Our first plan was just to go to a nearby mall close to where my dad and I were staying and also near the university she visited. But then our location changed because her Ate asked her to buy something from Ayala. So we decided to go to Ayala Mall instead since it was almost lunchtime and we were already very hungry.
I was nervous, even though I trust my friend Jellian because she is quite familiar with the place and knows how to use Google Maps. Still, I felt nervous because I kind of have trust issues with myself, lol HAHAHAHA! I texted my father, by the way, that we were going to Ayala, and thankfully, he was okay with it.
When we arrived, it wasn’t easy because the mall was huge. There were so many paths and directions, and we couldn’t find the boyfriend of Jellian’s Ate because the mall is big and the instructions about where to meet him kept changing. So we decided to just wait, rest, and enjoy the view. Since it was my first time seeing Ayala, I was really amazed, especially the outside area called “The Terraces.” It’s my number one favorite part of Ayala Mall because it has a beautiful space with a large fountain and a huge tree. It’s also a popular area, and it’s usually crowded, especially at night when there are lots of lights.
Not long after, Jellian finally met her Ate’s boyfriend. Then we went inside the mall because we were already very hungry and it was already 12 noon. But our struggles were not over yet 😭😭 because the mall is big and Jellian was not that familiar with it. We got tired looking for where the food places were located like Jollibee, McDonald’s, and Mang Inasal. Unfortunately, there was no Mang Inasal or Jollibee at that time. There was McDonald’s, but Jellian suggested that we try other food. First, we went to Burger King. I told her we could just eat there, but she suggested that we just order burgers and then go to Greenwich, which is on the lower floor where Burger King is also located.
Thankfully, our order at Burger King arrived quickly. Then we went down to the floor where Greenwich was, and our food there also didn’t take long to arrive.
The food was actually good, but for me, as a Jollibee girlie, nothing can beat their chicken and gravy. But the food was still delicious, especially the pizza—it’s a 100/10! It tasted similar to another pizza place, but I forgot the name, lol HAHAHAHA! The Burger King food is also a 100/10 for me. As someone who likes a lot of toppings and condiments, I really enjoyed it, and the patty was cooked well too.
Now let’s go to the most fun and expensive part of this trip HAHAHAHA!! My main agenda was to visit the National Book Store because lately I’ve been loving collecting Wattpad books, and as we all know, National Book Store sells a lot of books, including Wattpad ones. But before going there, we decided to check out different stores along the way. Some of these were not even part of our plan, like when Jellian bought Dunkin’ Donuts 😭😭 I ended up spending money too HAHAHAHA!!
Next, we went inside Mr. DIY. This was also part of my plan because I needed to buy a plastic envelope, but unfortunately, they were out of stock. And as you can guess, I ended up buying other things that were not part of my plan again HAHAHAHA!! I was actually shocked at how big the Mr. DIY store in Cebu is compared to the one in our province. They offer so many different things.
(I didn’t buy the squishy toy because I was scared that I might run out of money when going home 😭😭, so I decided to save what I had left.)
Before going to National Book Store, Jellian’s Ate asked her to buy something else, so we went to a supermarket. Since we were on the upper floor, we first passed by a clothing store, then we rode the escalator going down to where the supermarket was located.
It didn’t take long. After buying what we needed, we immediately went to National Book Store because it was already getting late in the afternoon. Jellian had to go home to the province after our trip, while I was still staying in the city. My main purpose at National Book Store, aside from looking for Wattpad books, was to buy a plastic envelope, but sadly, they were also out of stock. So I just stayed in the book area, and it honestly felt like heaven seeing so many familiar Wattpad books and the ones I’ve been wanting to buy online. My eyes were literally hearting, but I didn’t bring extra money, so sadly, I had to let it go. For now, I could only look at them HAHAHAHA.
Then after that very tiring but fun and memorable experience, we finally went home. Anyway, fun fact—we actually got lost on the way home HAHAHAHA! But thank God, we found our way to where we were supposed to go and we arrived safely.
That’s all for today’s blog! Thank you for reading!! 🫶🏻
