💞Remembering a special day💞
Hola cómo están queridos amigos de Hive espero que estén muy bien y que estén comiendo muchas hallacas ya que en estos días de la navidad es lo que se acostumbra en nuestra hermosa Venezuela, los saludo desde la distancia pero con muchísimo amor, ese mismo amor que ustedes me reflejan. Hoy les quiero hablar de una fecha muy importante y especial para mí y mis amigas de toda la vida. La celebración del espíritu de la navidad.
Many years ago, more than 15 years ago a day like today my friends and I had an idea to celebrate the spirit of Christmas, well I correct days before December 21. I remember that day as if it was yesterday, my mom went for a walk to my sister's house and the house was left alone, well I have always behaved well, but that day my friends and I gave a contribution of what we had in our homes and we sat at the table for dinner, the typical Venezuelan Christmas dish, hallaca, salad, ham bread, soft drinks and the famous cream punch.
Hace muchos años, más de 15 años atrás un día como hoy mis amigas y yo tuvimos una idea celebrar el espíritu de la Navidad, bueno corrijo días antes del 21 de diciembre. Recuerdo ese día como que fuese ayer, mi mamá se fue de paseo a la casa de mi hermana y la casa quedo sola, bueno yo siempre me he portado bien, pero ese día mis amigas y yo dimos un aporte de lo que teníamos en nuestras casas y nos sentamos a la mesa a cenar, el plato típico decembrino de Venezuela, hallaca, ensalada, pan de jamón, refrescos y el famoso ponche crema.

It was a simple dinner with laughter and anecdotes we spent a fun night, the following year the initiative was better, this time we contributed money again and the celebration was bigger and we incorporated the famous secret friend, we were a group of 7 friends, 5 of them sisters and two extra friends Daniela and me. Every year new friends joined us and if any of them had a boyfriend she would incorporate him. And so the celebrations were more and more majestic and elegant. We coordinated to dress alike with Christmas hats one year. Red another year and so on. We got to rent a sound, party, party favors, balloons, decorations and new friends. It was an important party for us every year more and more.
Fue una cena sencilla entre risas y anécdotas pasamos la noche divertida, el año siguiente la iniciativa fue mejor volvimos a aportar dinero, esta vez y la celebración fue más grande e incorporamos el famoso amigo secreto éramos un grupo de 7 amigas, 5 de ellas hermanas y dos amigas extras Daniela y yo. Cada año se iban sumando nuevas amigas y si alguna tenía novio lo iba incorporando. Y así eran las celebraciones cada vez más majestuosas y elegantes. Nos coordinamos para vestirnos iguales con gorritos de navidad un año. De color rojo otro año y así. Llegamos a alquilar un sonido, festejo, pasapalos, globos, decoración y nuevos amigos. Era una fiesta importante para nosotras cada año más y más.

In those days it was not fashionable to take pictures, we did because digital cameras arrived and Daniela had one, so we took advantage of it, but when the first dinner took place I don't remember having pictures of that day, I can tell you that that night is in my mind as if it was yesterday. It seems unbelievable but there are few pictures of the following years. There was one year that we didn't do anything at least not between us but the tradition continued, my friends got together with their families and I did the same. We lost the connection that year and so the following year 4 of them went to live out of the country, so now it became impossible to meet. The pandemic arrived and of course kept us all locked up, I for my part did not even meet with my family.
En aquellos tiempos no estaba de moda tomar fotos, si lo hacíamos porque llegaron las cámaras digitales y Daniela tuvo una, entonces aprovechamos pero cuando fue la primera cena no recuerdo tener fotografías de ese día, puedo decirles que esa noche está en mi mente como que fuera ayer. Parece mentira pero hay pocas fotos de los años siguientes. Hubo un año que no hicimos nada al menos no entre nosotras pero la tradición siguió, mis amigas se reunieron con sus familiares y yo igual. Perdimos la conexión ese año y así el año siguiente 4 de ellas se fueron a vivir fuera del país, por lo que ahora si se hizo imposible un encuentro. Llego la pandemia y por supuesto nos mantuvo encerrados a todos, yo por mi parte ni con mi familia me reuní.

This year was better, I organized a super simple and informal reception at my house and I proposed to all of them to make a group video call, two of them could not connect, I was with one of them because we still live on the same street where we grew up, it was nice to see them all online, to see it through a camera and see the same expressions of when I had them in front of me gave me nostalgia, I feel that time has not passed.
Este año fue mejor, organice en mi casa una recepción súper sencilla e informal y les propuse a todos hacer una video llamada grupal, dos de ellas no pudieron conectarse, yo estuve con una de ella porque seguimos viviendo en la misma calle de donde crecimos, fue bonito verlas a todas en línea, verla por una cámara y verles las mismas expresiones de cuando las tenia frente de mi me dio nostalgia, siento que el tiempo no ha pasado.

Un dato curioso de esta fecha es que usábamos nuestros mejores atuendos para vernos bellas, eso nos caracteriza a todas, nos ocupábamos por vernos bien ese día, añoro una cena de nuevo con mis amigas hermanas de la vida. Las amo a todas somos madres ya, solo falta una de ellas que la semana que viene será su boda, les prometo mostrar ese día mágico, muchas gracias amigos de Hive por leerme hasta aquí, espero que disfruten al ver las fotos. Ah olvidaba decirles que ayer vinieron mi hermana Lucy y mi sobrina Paola. Espero les guste mi historia, siempre digo hablar de aquellos tiempos con mis amigas me llena de nostalgia. Las primeras fotos que les enseño son de años pasados, las de ayer son las de la video llamadas, como les dije en aquella época no estaba muy de moda tomar fotos como ahora. Dios los bendiga a todos. Se les quiere.
