(Edited Picture Of Me & My family by Photolab)
Due to COVID 19, we were forced to stay at home for 2 years and haven't publicly celebrated our Independence Day since then. I suppose that this year, everything changed. And I certainly hope that it will continue.
My brother is in one of the bands that was scheduled to play at the event, but due to a small error on the part of the organiser, the police had to call an end to the activities because the event's time permit ran beyond what had been agreed upon between the organiser and our City Council.
Many audiences were really disappointed to learn that they had to depart the event after 10 o'clock that evening. Additionally, the majority of the invited guest artist and guest band were not given any opportunity to perform.
It's very disappointing.
However, on the following day—September 1, 2022, my brother informed us that they would be performing at a certain location alongside invited the local Malaysian artist (Radhi OAG). The session band for this local musician will be my brother and a member of his band, who will also be playing.
My family and I arrive at the event a little early so that we may choose a good spot to sit before the performance begins because I'm so pleased that he'll be performing again.
This event took place in a well-known restaurant called D'Rasa Catering & Restaurant, which is now a hub for all the local and Musician buskers.
The Mawar Buskers, a group of buskers from my hometown who are primarily from our younger generation, started off the event. One of the guitarists, who is only 11 years old, started the performance by himself, playing his guitar and singing alone. I'm very happy to know that there will be a generation with such skill.
They played a few of our local favorites as covers while they wait for the guest artist to arrive, making up for last night's absence. The crowd cheered wildly when he finally came.
Just to see him walk by and wave to everyone. The crowd was growing, and some people didn't have a spot to sit; they had to squat on the ground given the increasing adrenaline levels and the increasing crowd size.
As soon as he entered, the atmosphere changed, and everyone started cheering enthusiastically. Being seated across from the stage made me and my family the luckiest audience members.
Being in the front row gave us the finest view and spot for taking photos and videos.
If you ever get the opportunity to attend one of these events, do it, but don't just go until a band or artist you enjoy actually arrives to town.
Because nearly everyone was completely mesmerized the entire time we were in the event, I can't guarantee that the electrifying atmosphere will get you moving.
But I can assure you that it will be well worth it. Everyone who attends is there because they enjoy the music they are coming to hear, or at least that is the case 100 to 1.
Even if they attend every concert by that artist for the rest of their lives, you are all strangers, a mixture of people from the neighbourhood who probably won't ever meet again.
Sure, you may never meet these people again, and your reasons to sing loud and off key may be different, but there's always something there. And that's pretty cool and full with memories.
You already share a characteristic, though. You are already familiar with the song lyrics, the placement of the drum crashes, and the timing of the artist's solos.
Dave Grohl remarked; "That's among the wonderful things about music.
You can sing a song to 850 000 people, and 850 000 different people will sing it back to you." And I can show you through these Facebook Live as I attached the link below.
Rock concerts or event a small event like this are awesome. No other place will give you the same rush of adrenaline. My favourite memories are from some of the events I've been to.
Having said that, they may be rather noisy and tiring. However, I suppose that because I was already accustomed to the rock tune, I didn't perceive it to be at all loud.
All I have to say is that September has started off well and positively. I sincerely hope it will continue. Before a new year starts, we still have four months left. So make the most of your 2022 memories by being happy, learning, and spending time with your family. Be more thoughtful of your health so that you can attend more music events.
Me, my family, and our musical adventure are the subjects of this story. And I hope by the end of October, we can go to Lahad Datu town which is 4 hours drive from my hometown.
I hope my mother is still taking this into consideration, but I want to go to that event where my brother and his band will be playing. I would like to travel to Tawau Town as well, merely to visit all my acquaintances and catch up our business plan.
Last but not least, whether you are travelling alone or not, start making plans right away. It's time to save some money for future travel plans and further business discussions with my friends. Have a notepad or journal handy, and jot down or sketch anything pertinent to your plans for the upcoming month and the remainder of the year.
