Are you a guardian, a mother or a father? Have you been in a situation where your children asked for just a single penny like 1 peso and you could not give your child because you have nothing? In a situation like this, most parents will scold their children, others would even spang their child, especially if they cry. But to be honest, the parents' anger was not because of the child's asking for money, but because of self-pity that even for a small amount they could not provide for the child's wants.
Hello hivers🙋. I want you to meet my younger brother Rommel. They live in Mandaue City. He is a father of two, a girl and a boy both are in college. The girl is taking up a Bachelor's in Elementary Education at Cebu Normal University while the boy is taking an Associate in Electrical Engineering at Cebu Institute of Technology-University. He is an IT Technician and was employed by a very big company. He installed CCTV for other companies and establishments. He was a good provider and a loving father. In their family, they always valued and celebrated special occasions like birthdays, anniversaries and the like.
One day, he had a misunderstanding with his supervisor. He stood for his principles and reasons. the misunderstanding lasts some time. Until one day he decided to quit his Job. According to him, that job was no longer healthy for him. Unfortunately from that moment on, he never landed a good job anymore. The once good provider is now a burden to the family. Knowing that he has two college students, We, the siblings decided to help them by lessening the financial burden. One of our siblings pays for his children's tuition fee, and in return, urn he will accompany our mother who lives alone here in the province. And some of our siblings helped provide food for the family
Month of August, Rommel took random jobs, like painting, carpentry and more. We thought it was just boring that's why he did Before that, his mother overheard him talking while asleep, and he regretted his decision to quit his job, for he could not give even a single centavo to his child. Hearing it made us mothered because of pity for her son.
Early on September 17 this year, I happened to pass by my mother's house and noticed that he was very busy preparing food more than for their consumption. So I asked, Is there any occasion? He answered, It was her daughter's birthday and that his family was coming over just to be together for the said occasion. He wanted to surprise her dear daughter by preparing humble food for the family to get together.it is like how sweet. Indeed, every daughter added a spark to her father's life.
So I took the opportunity to take pictures of the foods he prepared and went back home.
As I arrived home, I recalled all of the jobs he had this past month. I realized then that he was doing it to save money for this day, to celebrate it joyfully. Not long before I had my realization, my brother came over and asked if I could buy a cake for her daughter since we would be going to Bogo City to buy our groceries and handed me 400 hundred pesos. Without any hesitation, I accepted the money, though in my mind I thought "Is there a birthday cake worth 400 hundred pesos?" I smiled in silence.
But my heart was overjoyed knowing that my brother is a good father and that despite his shortcomings he found ways to make his daughter feel that she was loved. And so that story goes. Certainly, only a birthday cake arrived.
Late afternoon, his family arrived. And as expected, his daughter was captivated. She never anticipated the surprise her father prepared for her, knowing that her father had no source of income. Though it was a humble preparation it was prepared with all of his father's heart. Certainly a Father's heart is the greatest. And so his daughter's birthday was celebrated happily with cousins and a few family friends.
In life, we made mistakes. We committed decisions which are not favourable on our part. We lose our balance and stumble down but I always believed in the saying that goes If there's a will there's a way. Just don't lose hope and everything will be fine. Keep your feet on the ground and be humble all the time to find ways to come up with good decisions that may lead to success.
Thank you for your time reading this humble blog of mine. May God bless us always.
