Early morning I'm getting ready because my uncle will picked me since we must travel early because Medellin was too far from Danao and also to avoid traffic. After he picked me up we go to their house to picked up my cousins and some things. We started our journey at 8 AM and stopped in Catmon to eat breakfast because we were really hungry.
After we ate, we continued our trip. Upon arriving in Medellin, we stopped by the market to buy some food like fish, coconut, mangoes, and other items. While Tito and Kuya were shopping, we had snacks because the journey was exhausting and it was really hot. After we finished buying everything, we continued our trip and started looking for the beach to visit. When we arrived, we parked the car, paid for the entrance, and rented a cottage since there were no rooms available and the tents were expensive. Thankfully, we brought our own tent and camping chairs.
Once we were settled in the cottage, we unpacked our things and started preparing food because we were starving since we hadn't had lunch. While they were cooking, my cousin and I decided to go for a swim because it was so hot. We changed into our swimwear, and of course, I couldn't miss taking a picture—if I’m with you, I need a photo of just me!
After I finished swimming, I helped Kuya's wife make some buko juice with mangoes. After a while, the food was ready, so we all ate and chatted. Our meal included shrimp, scallops, kinilaw, and grilled fish.
Then Tito and Kuya had some beer, while my cousin and I made TikToks. After that, we rented a billiard table for 70 pesos an hour, and we all played and bonded. Nico didn’t know how to play billiards, so that was fun to watch.
Tita and one of my cousins wanted to swim, so they invited us. I changed my clothes again, since it was time for the official picture-taking (just kidding). The sunset was gorgeous, and the sun-kissed glow was perfect. But before we took the sunset shots, I took a picture with my male cousin and Tita.
So, picture-taking time! It was me, Tita Roxanne, and my cousin Camille—every family outing, we always agree on the picture-taking part and everything else.
Then there’s my solo picture—I'm usually the last one to take pictures, but this time I got my shot! My half-body is already sunburned from the heat of the trip and the swim, but it was worth it. The sunset was stunning, truly breathtaking.
After a long day, we didn’t end up getting a family photo together because everyone was doing their own thing. We had some photos, but none were perfect since we were all just enjoying the day.
Our family getaway at Kawit Beach Resort in Medellin, Cebu, was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, relaxation, and precious moments. From the scenic drive to the stunning beach, every part of the trip was enjoyable. Whether we were swimming in the clear waters, enjoying delicious food, playing billiards, or simply basking in the beauty of the sunset, the day was all about making memories together. Despite not getting the perfect family photo, the moments we shared were far more meaningful. Kawit Beach Resort truly proved to be the perfect place for a family retreat—peaceful, fun, and full of natural beauty. It’s a hidden gem that I would highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and connect with loved ones in a tranquil setting.
