To some, a perfect Christmas should be celebrating with the family, the loved ones, where everyone is present, including those family members that are living in a faraway land to work. Well, that's the perfect Christmas celebration for most of us here, that should really be it, but, sadly, it's been so many years already since we last celebrated Christmas where everyone was present.
It's just that, for practicality sake, my two brothers would just choose to spend Christmas alone, saying that they can't make it, and instead of using the money to go home, it would just be sent to my Mama Ading. It's been like that even when my sister is still with us. It's sad, but even though Mama is sad, it can't be helped. In the end, she's still happy that she had money to celebrate it, even with just me and her dog and, well, with my oldies too. There are times when one of them will go home but the other one can't, so we are still incomplete.
It's just that the schedule where they will decide to go home is in conflict, and because of that, my brother can't go home, same with the eldest and even the youngest. But even though this is always the case, what's important is that they don't forget to wish Mama Ading a Merry Christmas. As for us, the siblings, it didn't really become a habit that we would greet each other on every occasion, even birthdays.
But no big deal, that's just what it is. As long as we know that we're still alive, then that's what matters most. I think it's just us, the only siblings, who're like this. We're not doing that, but that doesn't mean we are fighting or in war or something, of course not. That's just really how it is for us, we don't show it but we care for each other, and we help when someone asks for help (but not all the time, lol), especially when money matters.
Anyhow, my youngest brother visited home in 2021 during Christmas. The oldest brother visits home too, but we don't have a family picture where he is present. I took this picture in the morning while having our breakfast. Then we invited Mama and my youngest brother to eat together at home. Actually, it was my mommy F who initiated having this group photo. We were so busy eating and talking at that time that we almost forgot to take a family picture.
We were so happy that day that even though we had just a simple meal, it marked our hearts, and I can say that this was one of the best and perfect Christmas celebrations that we had. It'd be more perfect if only my oldest brother and his kids were in this photo too. Sadly, they arrive home in the afternoon.
Then last Christmas, in 2022, we celebrated Christmas, just me, my mama, and my two oldies. It's still perfect because we have small foods for this special day. And yeah, a perfect Christmas should have foods to be eaten by the whole family. Together with me and my mommy D, we made this sweet gelatin topped with colorful toppings and cheese. A dessert is what makes Christmas more special. It's really just simple, but it is our favorite.
The youngest and oldest brother couldn't make it on that special day, but the next day, my oldest brother visited home with her kids and wife. And as a late bonding time, we brought the children to the park. My two oldies are not with us, but the kids already greet them and even give them lots of kisses, so it is just me, Mama and Brother, and her family, with her wife and the three kids.
Watching the kids makes me happy, although they are really a bunch of handful kids, but it is not me who's looking after them but Mama, so it's okay, lol. I am really not good with kids, but with my niece, I think I can tolerate them. Christmas has already passed, but there's no doubt that this is the kind of perfect Christmas that we all love, it's just that, it didn't happen on that day.
Although it is only for a short time and we are still incomplete because my youngest brother is not present, I can still say that it was a perfect day. The void it caused Mama Ading was replaced by the presence of her grandkids, my two nieces and nephews.
I am not sure if we will be complete this coming Christmas, but I heard from Mama Ading that my youngest brother will go home this Christmas. I'm not sure if it's already sure. My older brother will surely go home because of his kids, but let's see. It'll be good if they arrive on the same day and time to celebrate Christmas. For sure, mama and mommy F will be very happy, if ever. Hoping for a fun Christmas again this year ฅ•ﻌ•ฅ.
