Hiyaa! It's đź’— once again! Today, I am going to share about one of the best bonds I've had with my sisters: attending a JPOP concert together. As music lovers, this experience meant so much to us and brought us closer in a way only music can.
The rise of K-pop these days is insane! I guess almost everyone knows about it, especially Gen Z! I am a massive fan myself, and Enhypen is the main group that I stan. My sisters and I are into listening to K-pop. Listening to it is just so fun and calming at the same time. Not understanding the language is not a problem. If you love music, you'll appreciate it!
For a long time, I thought no one could beat Korean performers, but that changed when I saw how J-pop idols perform. Last November 2023, my sister and I had the opportunity to see a free concert performance of J-pop called J-IDOL VASION. I'm not a fan of Japanese music, but I do listen to AKB48, the sister group of MNL48. I was a fan of MNL48 back in 2019, so when I heard they were part of the lineup, I had to go. I grabbed the opportunity to see them perform for free!
I convinced my little siblings to come with me so they would also have fun. They also like watching others perform. We didn't expect that the experience would be so memorable and fun. The lineup included Kuroguro, Bugvel, Chicken Blow the Idol, Hime Go to Zettaichi, and MNL48.
We waited for an hour—Filipino time drives me crazy. While waiting, I rushed to buy some snacks since we were hungry, but thankfully, the show hadn't started when I got back. It turns out they were dealing with sound issues. So we just waited—until it finally started!
The show already started. I forgot who was the first to perform. They weren't on the lineup, but we enjoyed watching them so much. They were a boy group. The group performed a few songs. After that, the next to perform was Kuroguro, I tell you, I was so shocked on how good they are! I was glad that my sisters were enjoying it, too. Their music is so lively and loud. They're so incredible, they are all wearing black and their faces look so perfect! They performed three or four songs ( I actually want more, it was so good)
After Kuroguro, Chicken Blow the Idol performed next. Their vibe was more about strong vocals, and they reminded me of Atarashii Gakko. I like everything about it: their visuals, voices, dancing, and confidence. They were mind-blowing. They were my sister's favorite.
Bugvel was next, I think this group is famous. Their visuals are toptier, it's like you're looking at kpop idols. The second to the last was Hime Go To Zettaichi. These girls are so energetic! They are banging and jumping for about how many minutes. They're the best for me! Their fans told us to come closer to the stage because it was okay, and that's what the artist wanted. My sister and I were so close to them! They poured all their energy, I was so astounded.
And finally, MNL48 was going to perform. We returned to our seats since we knew this group had strict rules. I was so happy seeing them in person. I didn't know they looked so much prettier in person. They are beautiful in pictures, but seeing them in person makes me feel so ugly! Their skin is so flawless that they are literally shining on the stage. I was so happy to hear their songs and sing along with them. I still can't believe I saw them perform for free. It was the best. They only performed two songs. That was the bad part, haha. I only saw them for a while, but anyway I was beyond happy just to see them live.
The best part of the night wasn't just the amazing performances but the bond I shared with my sisters. We literally laughed, cheered, sang, and created memories together. Seeing J-pop idols perform was eye-opening for a K-pop fan like me; however, experiencing it with my sisters made it unforgettable. It's one of those days I'll cherish for a long time.
