Este fin de semana mis compañeros salieron en bicicleta con Turiamo como destino. En su XI edición aproximadamente 700 ciclistas se dieron cita en las inmediaciones de la tienda La Boutique del Ciclismo y alrededor de las 7 de la mañana salieron con rumbo a las costas aragüeñas. Por compromisos académicos no pude asistir a la actividad, pero me puse de acuerdo con mi amigo Micucci para irnos ésa misma tarde, después de desocuparnos.
This weekend my teammates went out cycling with Turiamo as a destination. In its XI edition approximately 700 cyclists gathered in the vicinity of the store La Boutique del Ciclismo and around 7 in the morning they left for the coast of Aragua. Due to academic commitments I couldn't attend the activity, but I made an agreement with my friend Micucci to leave that same evening, after we were free.
Arrancamos alrededor de las 7:30pm, Micucci, Nicola y yo. La vía a la playa es una de mis favoritas, como tanto lo he mencionado, pero hacía años que no la recorría de noche y debo decir que me encantó! Disfruté de la frescura de la noche y de la tranquilidad de la montaña interrumpida solo por nuestra música.
We set off around 7:30pm, Micucci, Nicola and myself. The road to the beach is one of my favorites, as I've mentioned before, but it had been years since I had driven it at night and I must say I loved it! I enjoyed the coolness of the night and the tranquility of the mountain interrupted only by our music.
Después de cenar un perrito divino en un spot que no conocía, continuamos nuestro recorrido hasta la Posada El Castillo , el negocio familiar de nuestra compañera Eilis. Esa noche disfrutamos hasta el amanecer, literalmente. Al llegar, todos nuestros compañeros se encontraban en la piscina cantando karaoke, así que nos ubicamos cerca un rato para disfrutar de sus ocurrencias. No duré mucho tiempo seca, Gabriel se encargó de lanzarme a la piscina —yo tampoco opuse mucha resistencia que digamos—.
After a delicious hotdog for dinner at a spot I didn't know, we continued our tour to the Posada El Castillo, the family business of our partner Eilis. That night we enjoyed ourselves until dawn, literally. When we arrived, all our friends were at the pool singing karaoke, so we stood nearby for a while to enjoy their witticisms. I didn't last long dry, Gabriel was in charge of throwing me into the pool —I didn't put up much resistance either—.

La mañana siguiente, un poco trasnochados, arreglamos nuestras cosas para pasar el día en Cata. No sin antes disfrutar del rico desayuno que Claudia, Dariela, Yvonne, Mahie y Greisis habían preparado: arepitas rellenas con carne y pollo. Después de desayunar, mientas esperaba que todos estuvieran listos, me recosté un rato en una hamaca en el porche de la casa. El canto de los pájaros y lo verde del lugar hacían que se sintiera una tranquilidad increíble.
The next morning, a little late, we arranged our things to spend the day in Cata. But not before enjoying the delicious breakfast that Claudia, Dariela, Yvonne, Mahie and Greisis had prepared: arepitas stuffed with meat and chicken. After breakfast, while waiting for everyone to be ready, I lay down for a while in a hammock on the porch of the house. The birds singing and the greenness of the place made it feel incredibly peaceful.

Apenas llegamos a la playa Gabriel, Micucci, Claudia y Mariale se apresuraron a armar la cancha de Beach Tennis y rápidamente se pusieron a jugar; Yvonne y Greisis esperaban su turno. Andreina y Omaris se recostaron un rato a asolearse. Julio y Francisco durmieron un poco mientras que Richard, Dariela y Mahie disfrutaron de la partida narrada por Alí. Yo, como cosa rara, pasé el mayor tiempo posible en el agua. La playa estaba realmente divina, oleaje suave, temperatura cálida y buen sol.
As soon as we arrived at the beach Gabriel, Micucci, Claudia and Mariale hurried to set up the Beach Tennis court and quickly started playing; Yvonne and Greisis were waiting for their turn. Andreina and Omaris lay down to sunbathe for a while. Julio and Francisco slept a little while Richard, Dariela and Mahie enjoyed the game narrated by Ali. I, oddly enough, spent as much time as possible in the water. The beach was really nice, gentle waves, warm temperature and good sun.
Al regresar a la posada nuestra amiga Eilis nos estaba esperando con una sopa hecha por su esposo Rubén. Mientras servían probamos un poco de caraotas a la vinagreta hechas por la madre de Eilis, deliciosas, jamás las habíamos comido. Me quedo corta en palabras para expresar el agradecimiento por la hospitalidad con la que fuimos atendidos por nuestros anfitriones que, en conjunto con las áreas verdes, hacen de este lugar un remanso de paz.
When we returned to the posada, our friend Eilis was waiting for us with a soup made by her husband Rubén. I'm short of words to express my gratitude for the hospitality with which we were treated by our hosts who, together with the green areas, make this place a haven of peace.
La logística del viaje, a cargo de Claudia e Yvonne, fue excelente como siempre. Nada faltó y nada sobró. Me alegra saber que todo el grupo completó el paseo sin novedades, todo un reto dadas las condiciones climáticas, los felicito por eso. Nuestra compañera Gin con su tienda PyC Designs fue la encargada de diseñar y confeccionar los hermosos trajes de baño que lucieron todas las chicas en la playa, nos contenta que todas quedaran satisfechas con el resultado.
The logistics of the trip, in charge of Claudia and Yvonne, were excellent as always. Nothing was lacking and nothing was left over. I'm glad to know that the whole group completed the ride safely, quite a challenge given the weather conditions, I congratulate them for that. Our friend Gin with her store PyC Designs was in charge of designing and making the beautiful swimsuits that all the girls wore on the beach, we are happy that everyone was satisfied with the result.
Qué fortuna estar rodeada de personas tan valiosas que brindan sus talentos de forma desinteresada en beneficio de todos y qué dicha tener el privilegio de vivir experiencias llenas de emociones tan elevadas. Cerramos este fin de semana con un regalo esplendido: el atardecer desde un pequeño mirador en Cata.
How fortunate to be surrounded by such valuable people who offer their talents selflessly for the benefit of all, and what a joy to have the privilege of living experiences full of such high emotions. We closed this weekend with a splendid gift: the sunset from a small viewpoint in Cata.
