The idea for My Life In Color - Highlighting the Color For the Day evolved from a challenge based on colors assigned to each day that was the concept of a former Hive member. I decided to create my own version. It's not a challenge; just sharing many of my personal photos and digital drawing images in my collection.
With that said, today is Wednesday. I'll be sharing all colors of the spectrum that's black, white and gray. My choice of colors are found in my color chart below in which I assigned a different day of the week with a particular color or color blend.
I've read how colors affect people's lives and how their perception lead them to navigate toward certain hues. This has been the practice for thousands of years. In different societies, an array of colors are adapted for specific reasons.
When I think of the color gray, I feel a disconnection. An aloofness. Mysterious. Something that desires to be obscure and to fade into the background.
According to colorpsychology, gray is the color of conformism. It doesn't have a personality of its own. Instead, it appears both dark and light depending upon the color it's mixed with. The color is compared to humans too show their adaptation to any given situation. They can be present or prefer to remain in the background.1
When I think of the color gray in my daily life, I love it as part of my wardrobe. It pairs nicely with any color. And, as promised, it stands out or fades into the background depending upon the color combination. In art, gray is a mysterious color casting shadows upon the surface.
I'd be pleased if you'd view my images for today set out below.
