I have been getting alot of questions lately as a coach for the kids and adults,
Alot of people always ask me if it is right to engage their little kids into physical fitness training or for taekwondo training or any kind of sport at a younger age, perhaps what age must a child start fitness training and so on.
My reply
Once the child is mature enough to follow directions and able to practice proper technique and form he or she is good to go.
What we forget to remember
Toddlers like imitation this means they can imitate what you are doing, althou they might not be able to do it well it is now a coach or instructor duty to correct them little by little, taking them to the training center will help them in as much we are guiding them and not leaving them alone, I've seen alot of child that have alot of energy as a coach i will meet their parents so that i can convert the energy to something good 👍, in a long run they will end up to become the best version of themselves.
Can a toddler do Tae-kwon-do
In most countries Tae-kwon-do is a compulsory course that a child must do while growing up because some of the benefits is that.
it helps their cognitive development
It teaches Respect
It build their muscles
It gives lot of flexibility training
Self control and so on.
Is physical fitness bad for toddler
No but then the coach must be well educated and know that
No vigorous training for them.
A coach must make sure everything is teaching them is fun so to catch their attention.
They have shot attention so as a catch play more with them than you train them.
Allow them to enjoy the training ☺️.
Once they are tired let them rest.
I could remember how i started this child training last year and put all i could do in him to be good, today he has been doing
Very well both in school and in he's training.
Finally
If we have any child that loves fitness or any spots let us try as much as we can to help them. This has been some of the challenges we are facing, some of our parents want us to be something else while we love to do something else . We can only help our child by supporting them and encourage them in what they have the desire to become.
What always makes me happy ☺️ is when i train kids, although it might be so frustrating but then i love to see them around me. I hope I've been able to convince us all that toddlers participation in sport is always welcome in as much we can follow all the guidelines..
