Some trust in their chariots and horses,
But we trust in the name of the Lord,
They are brought to their knees and fall,
But we rise and we stand.
PSALM 20:6-8
Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
Greetings to the entire HeartChurch International Ministry community. Based on the new guidelines for the focused devotional challenge on the pandemic period, I decided to share with the community the challenges I went through during the period and how God helped me. The COVID-19 period has really been a period where I got to trust God the more and I saw how He worked on my behalf. I want to share with you all the challenges I went through during the COVID-19 period.
When the pandemic period came (COVID 19), nobody expected it, all were happy, having fun, celebrating, and going about there normal business, planning there day, working and getting paid.
In the month of March, the virus came in and the government gave a quarantine decreed. Before then, I was working as a sales representative in a company where different kinds of Livestock produce was sold.
At that period, I had a lot of debt at hand to pay and was thinking of how I can these bills paid (house rent and electrical bill). I was the only breadwinner of my family since my mother was critically ill (Diabetic) and my immediate brother wasn't doing anything at hand. The only way I could get this bill is from my monthly allowance. One week after this decree, I lost my job and did not get paid for that Month because the sales were bad and the decree by the government was stooping businesses from operating.
I felt frustrated and pain-stricken. so many things came to my mind, I thought of how I was going to feed my family and take care of my sick mother. The economy was growing high and market places were on chaos. I was afraid because my house rent was due for payment and did not know how my Landlord was going to respond when I get to tell him that I am yet to complete his money. I have heard a lot about his attitudes towards tenants who could not pay their house bills at the expected date.
I decided to go to him and tell him about the challenges I am going through before he comes to ask me about his money. The next day, I went to him and explained to him that though my house rent was due, I do not have the complete money to pay for my house rent because of the quarantine decree.
I was surprised to my bones after explaining everything to my landlord, he wholeheartedly accepted my plea without a second thought. He gladly gave me one more month to see how I can get myself together and that of my family and get something doing to be able to complete his money.
I knew there was no way I will be able to get a job in such a crisis, I was worried about how I was going to manage my sick mother, and also thought of how I was going to feed my family. I knew I had nobody to run to or trust on for help except God and I ran to Him for help and had faith in how God works in a mysterious way. To my greatest surprise, I saw the way God made a way for me and my family within one-month intervals.
I was able to get the money paid before the one month given to me expired and I was able to feed my family and I was able to get the necessary drugs she needed to manage her condition through the help of blogging and help from people I never expected. I had excesses left as well to get a device for myself to help me ease blogging.
My mother is healthy and hail although we are still managing her diabetic condition there is no cause of alarm. Now, she is doing a trade with the help of my money gotten from blogging and we are feeding normally without any problem although prices in the market are high, He still provides for me and my family.
It still seems like a dream to me how God provided for me during the quarantine period and He is still providing for me and my family. I haven't gotten a job yet except blogging on Hive but yet still we get to feed to our satisfaction and I still extend my helping hands to my neighbors around me who have nothing to eat financially and edible.
I am grateful to God for His faithfulness towards me and my family in this period. His love has kept me and He has supplied my needs according to His riches in glory.
