The mind is the control center of life and discipline. The mind stores all experiences and learned materials. It reasons and creates information; it chooses from myriad of options everyday.
The mind also plans and sees the future with an imagination that is unlimited. If you cannot discipline your mind to obey God, your mind will surely lead you astray.
The purpose of God in creating the mind is for the mind to work as a center of reasoning, deciding, believing and envisioning points.
You can see that in the book of Romans 8:5-6:
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
The mind decides whether we live in the flesh (which is the sinful nature) or in the spirit (the Godly, holy, recreated part of the christian).
If we decide to set our minds on negative desires, imaginations, or experiences, we will eventually follow those thoughts and begin to practice some degree of that negativity.
The things we set our minds on soon becomes behavior. What you see, hear, believe and receive into your mind and ponder over it again and again affect your entire life.
You have the capacity to choose what you want and how you want to live your life. God is not responsible for that because he has shown you what you should choose .
The will of God for you and me is to have the mind of Christ so that we can obey him and walk with him in fellowship to fulfill his original purpose of creation.
This can only be done through Christ.
You can see this in Philippians 2:5:
In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
The mind of Christ is the mind to overcome the devil , flesh and the world - I John 5:4-5 says; for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.
Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
Where you set your mind is the controlling factor between a spiritual life or a carnal life. Where do you set your mind now? Who controls the inside of you?
CONCLUSION
When we think in line with the scripture, when our attitude is controlled by the word of God, and we face life with the word of God, the our minds is stayed on him. That is when the life of peace of God becomes ours. Don't allow the thought of your flesh to control you, give yourself to the word of God and experience abundant life.
Thank you 😊.
