Greetings everyone!
It feels good to know that you are doing great. Welcome to my blog this day, This is my second entry of the #goldencenser and like I said in my first entry, #goldencenser is an initiative that will help every parishioners of this great church on the blockchain understand the word of God better as there is provision for it everyday in our lives. The word of God helps us get better so as to make us conform to the image of Christ Jesus.
Colossians 3:20-21.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 3:21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.
Here, Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ, in his letter to the church at colosse and to all who are called by his name, admonishes everyone most especially children to obey their parents in all things they do. You see! In today's world, it has been a subject to discuss as we have heard and seen children disobey their parents and elders. All in the name of wanting freedom. Freedom in the sense of not been monitored. Freedom in engaging in all form of ungodliness that leads to destructions. Paul, here, was admonishing the children to obey their parents because it is a pleasing thing to the Lord when he sees children obeying their parents. It is a commandment from God that children should obey their parents in all things. Parents are significant figure in the life of a child. They were once like that very child, they had that feeling of a child when they once one and they know and understand the peril of some decisions if not carefully taken.
In view of this, it is desire of every parent to ensure that their children follows the right path because they had already seen it all. Hence, it is expedient that children obey them so as not to make mistakes that will cost them their entire life. We can see through this verse that OBEDIENCE is an important key into pleasing God.
Having said all that, Parents should in turn not provoke their children. This is very important because, children can be easily offended if matters are not carefully handled through wisdom. Parents, most especially fathers, should try to understand their children so as to implore the correct way of bringing up such child in the way of the Lord. When you have an unrealistic expectations from your children, don't be surprised when they are discouraged in the service of the Lord. Paul the apostle of Christ admonishes fathers not to provoke their children. It is definitely an instruction.
Let's endeavour to read the entire scriptures of that chapter 3 as embedded in it are instructions that will help us grow in the things of the Lord. Not just this chapter, but the scriptures at large.
Their is prosperity and good success when we meditate in the word of God day and night
