Oh Praise God to be a living witness of this marvelous great love of God and the richness of His mercies shared to humanity through our Lord Jesus Christ. Today, the whole world celebrates the true testimony of God's son - Jesus Christ who died for humanity's sin and was raised by God and we together with Him to sit at the right hand of God in heaven (Ephesians 2: 5).
Sharing in the joy of 2020's Easter celebration is no mean thing and should not be taken for granted. However, in all our celebrations, the essence of Christ's death and glorious resurrection should not be taken lightly.
I want to draw our apt attention to the great message Jesus gave to the women that first saw him after his Resurrection as was first confirmed by the angels at the empty tomb. Let's read the long passage in Matthew 28: 1-10 (KJV):
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
4 And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.
9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
Thank God, we are all aware that our Lord is no more in the grave. he is risen and we chant great songs pf worship to allude Him the praise for bringing to shame the devices of the high priest who thought that securing the tomb will stay the Lord from a glorious Resurrection.
Now, the joy of the risen Lord fills our heart just as it filled the hearts of the women that stayed to meet the Lord. But lo, the angels gave an assignment in verse 7:
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.
This same command Jesus also commanded them in verse 10:
10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.
We have been commanded to go quickly and spread the good tidings to the disciples who were indoors for the fear of being killed by the Jewish leaders.
It's no more time to allow people live in fear because they think the Lord is in the grave. Unknown to them, our Lord is already reason.
We have to take on this important assignment to further spread this good news. It is not time to keep to ourselves. It is time to voice out loud to give courage and strength to all those that have been muzzled by the fears of the world's wickedness.
many have gone hiding because the pain, threats and wickedness of this world have molested them. Sickness have made others live in despair and fear of whether tomorrow will be real. To them all - go spread this good tidings that our Lord is already risen and He forever lives.
Would you heed to this command?
