White clothes are a nightmare for anyone when it comes to laundry, many use chlorine indiscriminately, others look for alternatives that are not so aggressive for the clothes. I find myself in the latter group, and after damaging I don't know how many garments trying, according to me, to bleach them, I got tired and started to find out alternatives to keep them perfect without having to use chlorine.

On that research trip I tried many home remedies, some worked, but they were not as satisfactory for me, baking soda does help, but not as much as I would like. So, I got carried away by the advertising and tried the one that has become my favorite bleach, the famous Vanish. Without trying to be commercial, it is the best I have ever tried. Both their liquid and powder versions are excellent, even the bar soap they have is very good, but the truth is that I don't usually wash much by hand, so I bought this presentation to try it and I was quite satisfied.
Although I must admit that at the beginning I felt that it did nothing, in fact, I thought it was just another fraud and I stopped using it for a while thinking that it was useless. When my son was born, for reasons of ecology, savings and health, we decided to use cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers. That stage of cloth diapering showed me all the mistakes I had been making when washing and no, I'm not talking about separating clothes and all that which is normal, but the importance of doing a pre-rinse, pre-wash and the wonderful, deep wash.
As you can imagine, diapers should be washed very well and after a while it is necessary to do a deep wash to remove everything that may have accumulated. Of course, this only happens when the washing routine is deficient, but since I am a bit of a maniac, I used to do it every six months, even if they were in perfect condition. This washing is not done with just any soap, but with special cleaners used in laundries and dry cleaners, which I had no idea existed.

After analyzing several options, I chose one called "GroVia Mighty Bubbles" which I purchased through Amazon. This product consists of concentrated detergent capsules (pods), the package comes with 10 of these. Being a concentrated product should be used carefully and following the instructions to the letter, because if not, it will not work and just wasted, and I can tell you that it is not so cheap as to want to waste it. One of the most emphasized indications when using this type of product is that it must be used on clean clothes and with very hot water.
The first few times I used it only on diapers, which were spectacularly clean, they looked like new. After a while I was curious if they could do the same for white clothes and what do you think? They did. Apparently these "pods" help to remove everything that has accumulated through time and washing. Encouraged by the results I had obtained, I tried to use it to remove some white shirts that were practically lost, unfortunately it could only remove a little of the yellowing. Although the product itself says that removing certain buildup can take more than one treatment, I didn't want to try any more.
Disappointed I put the shirts and the product away again, until one day walking through the aisles of the supermarket I found Vanish again, it had changed its image and out of curiosity I started to read the label and when I saw that it should also be used with hot water I threw it in the cart, what could I lose by trying it? The following weekend I set out to try it on the same shirts I had used Mighty Bubbles on, but now using hot water.
Although the shirts were much whiter than they were before, it was still not the result I wanted. That's when it occurred to me to "mix" the two products, of course I threw them together in the washing machine, but I did wash with one after the other and finally the magic happened, the shirts were as good as new. Since then I have used this combination to remove stains from any garment and it has been wonderful. The best of all is that the clothes are practically not mistreated, because in spite of being a deep wash, the "Mighty Bubbles" are biodegradable and zero aggressive with the clothes.
The only thing you have to be careful with is hot water, as it can wear out the elastics and if the fabric is synthetic it can be damaged, natural fabrics accept hot water and this type of treatments very well. Remember to always read the washing instructions of your garments before trying something new. Although if you don't do it, you can come and tell us what happened on anecdotes Fridays, hahahaha.
These results have made both products become my favorites when it comes to laundry. I hope my experience with them will help you and if you have the opportunity to buy a product to give your garments a deep wash, do not hesitate to do it, you will love the result.
Mis productos de lavandería favoritos
La ropa blanca es una pesadilla para cualquiera a la hora de la lavandería, muchos usan cloro indiscriminadamente, otros buscan alternativas no tan agresivas para la ropa. Yo me encuentro en este último grupo, y es que después de dañar no sé cuantas prendas intentando, según yo, blanquearlas, me cansé y comencé a averiguar alternativas para mantenerlas perfectas sin tener que emplear cloro.
En ese viaje de investigación probé muchos remedios caseros, algunos funcionaron, pero no fueron tan satisfactorios para mí, el bicarbonato si ayuda, pero no tanto como yo quisiera. Así que dejándome llevar por la publicidad, probé el que hasta hoy se ha convertido en mi blanqueador favorito, el famoso Vanish. Sin ánimos de hacer comercial es lo mejorcito que he probado. Tanto su versión líquida, como la versión en polvo son excelentes, incluso el jabón en barra que tienen es muy bueno, pero la verdad es que yo no suelo lavar mucho a mano, entonces esa presentación la compré para probar y me dejó bastante satisfecha.
Aunque debo admitir que al principio yo sentía que no hacía nada, de hecho, pensé que era un fraude más y dejé de usarlo un tiempo pensando que no servía para nada. Cuando nació mi hijo, por cuestiones de ecología, ahorro y salud, decidimos utilizar pañales de tela en lugar de los desechables. Esa etapa de pañalear con tela me mostró todos los errores que había estado cometiendo al momento de lavar y no, no hablo de separar la ropa y todo eso que es lo normal, sino la importancia de hacer un pre-enjuague, pre-lavado y el maravilloso, lavado profundo.
Como se podrán imaginar, los pañales deben lavarse muy bien y después de un tiempo es necesario realizarles un lavado profundo para eliminar todo lo que se haya podido acumular. Claro, eso solo pasa cuando la rutina de lavado es deficiente, pero como yo soy un poco maniática la hacía cada seis meses, aunque estuvieran en perfecto estado. Este lavado no se hace con un jabón cualquiera, se emplean limpiadores especiales que usan en lavanderías y tintorerías, los cuales yo no tenía ni idea de que existían.

Al ser un producto concentrado debe utilizarse con cuidado y siguiendo sus instrucciones al pie de la letra, porque si no, no funcionará y solamente se desperdicia, y les puedo decir que no es tan barato como para quererlo desperdiciar. Una de las indicaciones en las que más se hace hincapié al usar este tipo de productos es que debe hacerse con la ropa limpia y con agua bien caliente.
Las primeras veces lo empleé solamente con los pañales, los cuales quedaban espectacularmente limpios, parecían nuevos. Después de un tiempo me entró curiosidad si podrían hacer lo mismo por la ropa blanca y ¿Qué creen? Así fue. Al parecer estos "pods" ayudan a desprender todo lo que se ha acumulado a través del tiempo y las lavadas. Animada por los resultados que había obtenido, intenté usarlo para desmanchar unas camisas blancas que estaban prácticamente perdidas, lamentablemente solo pudo quitar un poco de lo amarillento. Aunque el mismo producto dice que eliminar ciertas acumulaciones puede llevar más de un tratamiento, yo no quise probar más.
Decepcionada volví a guardar las camisas y el producto, hasta que un día caminando por los pasillos del supermercado me volví a encontrar el Vanish, había cambiado de imagen y por curiosidad me puse a leer la etiqueta y al ver que también debía utilizarse con agua caliente lo eché en el carrito, ¿qué podía perder al intentarlo?. El siguiente fin de semana me dispuse a probarlo con las mismas camisas con las que había empleado el Mighty Bubbles, pero ahora empleando agua caliente.
Aunque las camisas quedaron mucho más blancas de lo que estaban antes, aún no era el resultado que yo quería. Ahí fue donde se me ocurrió "mezclar" los dos productos, claro que los eché juntos a la lavadora, pero sí lavé con uno después de otro y por fin ocurrió la magia, las camisas quedaron como nuevas. Desde ese momento he usado esa combinación para desmanchar cualquier prenda y me ha resultado maravillosa. Lo mejor de todo es que la ropa prácticamente no se maltrata, porque a pesar de ser un lavado profundo, las "Mighty Bubbles" son biodegradables y cero agresivas con la ropa.
Con lo único que si hay que tener cuidado es con el agua caliente, ya que puede llegar a desgastar los elásticos y si el tejido es sintético se puede dañar, tejidos naturales aceptan muy bien el agua caliente y este tipo de tratamientos. Recuerden siempre leer las indicaciones de lavado de sus prendas antes de probar algo nuevo. Aunque si no lo hacen, podrán venirnos a contarnos lo que pasó en los viernes de anécdotas, jajajaja.
Esos resultados han hecho que ambos productos se hayan convertido en mis favoritos a la hora de realizar la lavandería. Espero que mi experiencia con ellos les sirva y si tienen la oportunidad de comprar un producto para hacerles un lavado profundo a sus prendas, no duden en hacerlo, les encantará el resultado.
