How are you my friends from
! I wish you a happy day, I finally finished arranging my room, but from the beginning and a few months ago I wanted to choose a small space in my room and decorate it for my work, a task that was difficult for me since the wall of this house is textured, not smooth, and I had several projects in mind, but I tell you that I didn't know which one to start with out of so many ideas that came to mind 😑.
I said to myself now is not the time to sit back and do nothing since I had to set the mood as soon as possible so I could show them and have a small space that is well arranged and dignified and show them the work that I have come here and that I love to share, the first idea I had was to buy textured paper or adhesive panels for the wall but I mentioned that this wall already has that texture so my second idea came up while talking to my mom and she told me that I could use paint to just paint it, an idea that also seemed feasible to me, and the last idea was to buy a curtain with a dark background, those were the ideas I had to set the mood of this place, but I stayed with the second one, and I tell you that it is much better because the paint lasts longer and the wall completely receives a different change, apart from that the panels are made of disposable materials in the long run some little animals in the home could break them and the curtain would have to be removed to wash it so I stayed with the second idea.
Before getting down to work I gathered all the materials and tools possible to paint and give a lick of paint to this wall that looked somewhat deteriorated and the old paint was already falling off, this paint base that I had is that type of paint that is water-based, I will use one that coincidentally we had at home here we always have a little paint left over from past projects and we save it, so it's good that we should use it because they also dry out over time, so in the same way today I gave this paint a second chance before it dried in the container where it was.
Here I was preparing with my materials and tools that I will be using to paint. I used gloves, a medium brush, I used a double plastic bench for more safety and to get on top of it to paint as far as I could not reach. In a separate container I poured gasoline to dilute the paint a little since it was somewhat thick and of course to remove the paint from my brush when I finished.
On this wall I had some pictures glued that I had put there some time ago, so it was time to remove them. To do this, I climbed up on the bench and carefully removed them and removed the pieces of cardboard that were left from these pictures and that were glued with silicone from the wall.
Here I started to paint my wall evenly on one side so that the paint would stay on the surface well. I wanted to go back a few moments to see if it was possible to add another coat from a distance, but since the paint was somewhat thick it wasn't necessary, and you can tell when the quality of the paint is good when you can't see the base. I did touch up afterwards in some parts like the corners because if there are little holes in the wall sometimes it was necessary to apply another small coat of paint only in those areas.
I tell you that I painted this part quickly, perhaps because the space was not that big, so then I went on to paint the parts on the sides of the wall that are the pillars that stick out in the middle. I also wanted to give them a touch-up of paint because they were stained and the paint had fallen off a little.
After a while of work friends you can already see the result, without a doubt everything painted looks very nice and changes a lot, now I know that this wall needs more things, things that I will share with you soon, here I leave you the before and after of the wall and of this remodeling and wait for the second part of this blog you will love the result very much, thank you for reading me and I say goodbye to you, I send you a virtual hug.
