Christmas energy is near and as I have mentioned in some previous posts, I am in the Christmas mood since the beginning of November. So I am already preparing my house for Christmas and this is a special occasion to share it with my friends of this community in the initiative that they have left us a few days ago.

Now, let's get to what we are dealing with this time. The arrival of Christmas invades our hearts with joy, gratitude and hopes, and so we reflect it in our homes, when we prepare to make them shine with decorations, colors and aromas typical of these days. But before, it is customary to clean, paint and reorganize every corner of the home.
In my case, I did a deep cleaning of the house by areas. I would start with the bedrooms, closets and drawers to take out what I no longer used and make room for everything new that was going to arrive. Then, I did the same in the kitchen. I would clean cabinets, take out the ugly containers and replace them with new ones, and buy Christmas-themed kitchen towels. In this way, my house looked refreshed.
Years ago, it was also a custom to paint the whole house, change colors, upholster furniture with new styles of fabrics, among other things. For a while now, I decided to paint my whole house white, so I didn't have to spend a lot of money on paint, since I always had a gallon of white paint to touch up where I saw some dirt, and every two years I painted only the front of the house. Times changed and the expenses we made at Christmas were limited. Any repairs that needed to be done were done in August to avoid the budget being out of whack in December.
Another custom I had in my house was that before putting up Christmas, I would take out the boxes with all the ornaments to clean them and, also, I would take out the tree to wash it, let it dry in the sun and then, yes, it was ready to decorate.
Now, I'm in a new home, white too, and just last weekend we started painting the stained walls. I love the smell of paint and the energy that fills the house with joy. We still need to touch up some walls and finish that step.
I took the opportunity to take out the ornaments I have here. They are few, last year, my daughter bought me some little things to motivate me to put up Christmas and brighten up my days.
I was shaking and cleaning each of the decorations to see what I have and buy other things, because this year I want to decorate a little more, although I don't want to fill myself with too many things. In my house in Cumana, there are about ten boxes containing Christmas ornaments. Here I don't have the space to store everything I would love to buy, because there are beautiful things, but I don't feel like it when I think about the space.
The most important thing about Christmas is to enjoy and share with the family in a nice, comfortable and cozy environment, and we are already working on the house for that, thank God.
When my house is ready, of course I will show it to you here, the community in which our homes are the protagonists.

Ya la energía decembrina está cerca y como lo he comentado en algunas publicaciones anteriores, yo estoy en el mood navideño desde que inició noviembre. Así que ya estoy preparando mi casa para Navidad y esta es una ocasión especial para compartirla con mis amigas de esta comunidad en la iniciativa que nos han dejado hace unos días.

Ahora bien, vamos a lo que nos ocupa en esta oportunidad. La llegada de la Navidad invade nuestros corazones de alegría, gratitud y esperanzas, y así lo reflejamos en nuestros hogares, cuando nos disponemos a hacerlos brillar con adornos, colores y aromas propios de estos días. Pero antes, es costumbre limpiar, pintar y reorganizar cada rincón del hogar.
En mi caso, hacía una limpieza profunda de la casa por áreas. Comenzaba por las habitaciones, closets y gaveteros para sacar aquello que ya no usaba y hacía espacio para todo lo nuevo que iba a llegar. Luego, hacía lo mismo en la cocina. Limpiaba gabinetes, sacaba los envases que ya estaban feos para sustituirlos por los nuevos y compraba pañitos de cocina alusivos a la Navidad. De este modo, mi casa se veía renovada.
Hace años, era también una costumbre pintar toda la casa, cambiar colores, tapizar muebles con nuevos estilos de telas, entre otras cosas. De un tiempo para acá, decidí pintar toda mi casa de blanco, así no tenía que gastar mucho en pinturas, pues siempre tenía un galón de pintura blanca para retocar donde se veía algún sucio, y cada dos años pintaba sólo el frente de la casa. Los tiempos cambiaron y se limitaron los gastos que hacíamos en Navidad. Las reparaciones que hicieran falta las hacía en el mes de agosto para evitar que el presupuesto se desajustara en el mes de diciembre.
Otra costumbre que tenía en mi casa era que antes de poner la Navidad, sacaba las cajas con todos los adornos para limpiarlos y, también, sacaba el arbolito para lavarlo, lo dejaba secar al sol y luego, sí, ya estaba listo para decorar.
Ahora, estoy en un nuevo hogar, blanco también, y justamente, el fin de semana pasado comenzamos a pintar las paredes manchadas por el uso. Me encanta el olor a pintura y la energía que llena de alegría la casa. Todavía nos falta retocar algunas paredes y terminar con ese paso.
Aproveché para sacar los adornos que tengo aquí. Son pocos, el año pasado, mi hija me compró algunas cositas para motivarme a poner la Navidad y alegrar mis días.
Estuve sacudiendo y limpiando cada uno de los adornos para ver lo que tengo y así comprar otras cositas, pues este año sí quiero decorar un poco más, aunque no quiero llenarme de muchas cosas. En mi casa de Cumaná, las cajas que contienen los adornos de Navidad son como diez. Aquí no tengo el espacio adecuado para guardar todo lo que me encantaría comprar, porque sí que hay cosas bellas, pero se me pasa el antojo cuando pienso en el espacio.
Lo más importante de la Navidad es, disfrutar y compartir en familia en un ambiente bonito, cómodo y acogedor, y ya estamos trabajando en casita para eso, gracias a Dios.
Cuando esté lista mi casa, por supuesto que se las voy a mostrar aquí, la comunidad en la que nuestros hogares son los protagonistas.
