Here's what I'd like to share with you: Black garments, with washing and wear, look worn and dull because the sun and washing destroy the texture. That's why I'm sharing a little home remedy to revive the black color of your clothes. We have a powder that comes in a small packet with a net content of 15 grams, known as Wiki-Wiki. It can be used to dye jeans and cotton, and other colors are also available. It is important to follow the instructions on the packet to successfully dye your clothes.
Para este proyecto escogí una camisa negra que lucía algo desteñida y comencé lavando la prenda como de costumbre, ya que se necesita que la pieza esté húmeda a la hora de comenzar con el proceso.
For this project, I chose a black shirt that looked a little faded and started by washing the garment as usual, since it needs to be damp when you start the process.
LO QUE NECESITAMOS / /WHAT WE NEED
- Recipiente metálico (Olla).
- Ponchera grande.
- 2 cucharadas de sal.
- 1 Sobre de Wiki-Wiki.
- Cuchara grande para remover.
- Abundante agua.
- Guantes y delantal (opcional).
- La prenda a teñir.
- Metal container (pot).
- Large bowl.
- 2 tablespoons of salt.
- 1 packet of Wiki-Wiki.
- Large spoon for stirring.
- Plenty of water.
- Gloves and apron (optional).
- The garment to be dyed.
PASOS / STEPS
- Llenar con agua la olla. Nota: no llenar hasta el tope porque al introducir la prenda se desborda el agua. Cuando el agua está a punto de hervir, echar el sobre de Wiki-Wiki, luego 2 cucharadas soperas de sal, remover con la cuchara grande para que el polvo se diluya por completo.
- Fill the pot with water. Note: do not fill to the top because when you put the garment in, the water will overflow. When the water is about to boil, add the Wiki-Wiki sachet, then 2 tablespoons of salt, stir with a large spoon so that the powder dissolves completely.
- Como dije con anterioridad, la prenda se debe lavar previamente como de costumbre, debe estar húmeda.
- As I said before, the garment should be washed beforehand as usual and should be damp.
- Introducir al recipiente poco a poco nuestra prenda húmeda hasta sumergir por completo. Con el tenedor o cuchara grande vamos moviendo. Es importante el uso de guantes y un delantal para evitar que algunas gotas manchen nuestra vestimenta y manos.
- Gradually place your damp garment into the container until it is completely submerged. Use a fork or large spoon to stir it around. It is important to wear gloves and an apron to prevent splashes from staining your clothes and hands.
- Aproximadamente deben pasar 45 minutos y constantemente se debe estar moviendo la prenda.
- Approximately 45 minutes should pass, and the garment should be constantly moved.
- Pasado el tiempo, retirar la olla del fuego, dejar que repose unos minutos. Mientras preparas con suficiente agua una ponchera, allí se sumerge la prenda y comienzas a moverla para que vaya soltando el líquido negro. Seguir enguagando en el chorro de agua hasta que el agua salga clara. Luego tender la prenda a la sombra hasta que seque.
- After the time has elapsed, remove the pot from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes. While you fill a bowl with enough water, submerge the garment and begin to move it around so that it releases the black liquid. Continue rinsing under running water until the water runs clear. Then hang the garment in the shade until it dries.
