Llegó el domingo y en mi país unas anheladas "vacaciones", las cuales pongo entre comillas porque todos aquellos que tenemos un hogar a nuestro cargo, sabemos que las obligaciones y responsabilidades no fallan.
El cuidado del baño entra entre estas "cosas por tachar" en la lista de quehaceres y, aunque en mi casa lo usamos dos personas superordenadas, siempre es bueno hacerle su ciclo de limpieza, ¿estamos de acuerdo?
Resulta que el sábado, aprovechando la energía que traía de la semana, mientras lavaba, comencé a sacar de mi baño TODOS los artículos que tengo para mi cuidado diario; me sorprendí de las distintas cosas que tengo y de manera desordenada. ¡GUAO! Las mujeres necesitamos muchas cosas para ser feliz 🤣.
En la tienda Mango Bajito ya había comprado unas cortinas y accesorios verdes. Aunque mi baño es azul, quería colocarle otro color a ver qué tal el contraste. Me decidí por el verde y encontré la cortina, jabonera y una alfombra que complementaron el look. Conseguí una toalla, pero resultó de muy mala calidad.
Sunday arrived and in my country, a long-awaited "vacation," which I put in quotes because all of us who have a household to take care of know that duties and responsibilities never fail. Bathroom care is among these "things to tick off" on the chore list, and even though in my house it is used by two super-tidy people, it is always good to give it a cleaning cycle, right?
It turns out that on Saturday, taking advantage of the energy I brought from the week, while cleaning, I began to take out from my bathroom ALL the items I have for my daily care; I was surprised by the different things I have and how disorganized they were. WOW! Women need many things to be happy 🤣. At the Mango Bajito store I had already bought some curtains and green accessories. Although my bathroom is blue, I wanted to add another color to see how the contrast would look. I decided on green and found the curtain, soap dish, and a rug that completed the look. I got a towel, but it turned out to be of very poor quality.
Mi repisa blanca viene acompañándome desde que era universitaria; siempre ha sido útil, pero ha perdido su estabilidad. La ubico en el baño, pero siento que ocupa un espacio que no me permitía usar correctamente la parte de abajo de mi lavamanos. Mi J. J. y yo solucionamos colocándola encima del retrete y me quedó genial porque pude colocar MÁS ACCESORIOS PROPIOS DEL BAÑO como toallas, limpiadores y cremas faciales. ¡Hicimos un excelente trabajo! 💯 💗.
My white shelf has been with me since I was in college; it has always been useful, but it has lost its stability. I place it in the bathroom, but I feel that it occupies a space that did not allow me to use the area under my sink properly. My J. J. and I solved it by placing it on top of the toilet, and it turned out great because I was able to place MORE BATHROOM ACCESSORIES like towels, cleaners, and facial creams. We did an excellent job! 💯 💗.

Como yo les he dicho, me encanta venir acá con las luces y sombras de lo que implica mantener un hogar. Lo importante, no es enfocarse en lo negativo, sino ayudar a que otras personas no pasen por lo mismo.
Cuando yo estudiaba en la universidad, teníamos como responsabilidad lavar nuestro baño semanalmente. Acá en mi casa no lo hago, porque pensaba "a simple vista" que no lo necesitaba. Siempre le limpiaba con una barrida, un paño por el lavamanos y algo de detergente en la ducha. Asumía que con eso era suficiente.
Sin embargo, en esta limpieza noté que las baldosas estaban muy sucias; pensé que estaban vencidas y debíamos cambiarlas. Cuando fuí a averiguar los precios, mínimo necesito unos $500 para cambiar todas las cerámicas por unas nuevas 🙃. Con esos costos, me pregunté: "¿Y si las limpiamos como aprendí en la universidad?
How did everything turn out? Wonderful 😍. Tidy and most importantly, sanitized; in other words, "it smells clean." And... the fine print? I'll explain it to you. As I have told you, I love coming here with the lights and shadows of what it means to maintain a home. The important thing is not to focus on the negative, but to help other people not go through the same thing. When I was studying at university, we had the responsibility to clean our bathroom weekly. Here at my house I don’t do that, because I thought "at first glance" that it wasn’t necessary. I always cleaned it by sweeping, using a cloth for the sink, and some detergent for the shower. I assumed that was enough to clean. However, in this cleaning, I noticed that they were very dirty; I thought they were outdated and we should change them. When I went to check the prices, I need at least about $500 to replace all the tiles with new ones 🙃. With those costs, I asked myself: "What if we clean them like I learned at university?
¡Qué diferencia! Amigos, me cuesta admitir que lo que tenía era una capa invisible de suciedad producto del jabón y la humedad. Creo que cuando estaba limpiando entre la culpa y la pena de permitir que mi baño llegara a ese estado, le daba tan fuerte a cada baldosa para quitar esos residuos, que hoy las veo relucientes y lisas 😊.
Eso sí, las juntas se las debo porque les haré un trabajo con mi albañil de confianza de rellenar los espacios que se han caído con cemento blanco 😉:

Con esa misma idea y costos elevados de cerámica, me fui con el baño de mi madre y exactamente pasaba lo mismo: exceso de suciedad y humedad. Había asumido que, como son blancas, eran productos de desgaste. Todavía no salgo de mi asombro de cómo permití esa situación. En este caso, usé un brillo de cocina para ponerme en posición de Cenicienta y frotar muchas veces el piso hasta que salió la mancha:
With that same idea and high ceramic costs, I went with my mother's bathroom and exactly the same thing happened: excess dirt and moisture. Ese mismo día, quería sentarme a comer en mi baño de lo limpio y ordenado que quedó 🤣. Hablando en serio, quedé con la promesa de estar mucho más pendiente y no permitir que esto ocurra nuevamente. Aproveché de organizar, sacar lo que verdaderamente usamos y comenzar a planificar los próximos pasos a seguir embelleciendo nuestros baños, como colocarle puertas a los lavamanos y puertas de vidrio a las duchas ¡Manifestando! 😎:
That same day, I wanted to sit down to eat in my bathroom because it was so clean and tidy 🤣. Joking aside, I left with the promise to be much more attentive and not allow this to happen again. I took the opportunity to organize, get rid of what we truly use, and start planning the next steps to follow in our bathrooms 😎:
