I have been gathering some failed proofs for this very day where we show in the community those visual consumptions I do via Instagram and that, unfortunately, do not work in my home. I don't say it as a complaint or something that discourages me; on the contrary, I keep trying (and wasting) with other recipes until I find the right one 😉. Also, I hope it serves as an example for everyone who reads me and tells me what I am doing wrong, for future successful projects that I can also tell you about 😉.
Ants in my kitchen
If there is something that bothers me, it is animals and insects in general in my house.
Seeing cockroaches, or as happened to me in December with a mouse, I immediately set off the alarms, and until I finish off their existence, I have no peace in my heart.
It turns out that during the rainy season, an ant trail formed in my kitchen. I understand that it is something extremely normal, but since I read One Hundred Years of Solitude I am very cautious with these animals. I’ll tell you that I did a cleaning to remove the trail and thought it was enough.
Days passed and I saw that their presence kept growing to the point that it looked like a crack. My mother told me that placing baking soda with sugar on a plate would make them go away immediately.
Result? None, they mocked her and I lost the material. How did I solve it? Cleaning. Every day, up to two or three times, I used vinegar, cleaned the cloth many times, and discovered the spots where they were gathered and eliminated them.
In a few days I no longer had the trail and up until now I don't have ants, but I don't let my guard down 😉.
Hormigas en mi cocina
Si hay algo que me molesta, son los animales y los insectos en general en mi casa. Al ver chiripas, o como me pasó en diciembre con un ratón, inmediatamente enciendo las alarmas y hasta no acabar con su existencia, no tengo paz en mi corazón.
Resulta que en la época de las lluvias se hizo un carril de hormiga en mi cocina. Yo entiendo que es algo sumamente normal, pero desde que leí Cien años de soledad soy muy cautelosa con estos animales.
Les cuento que hice una limpieza de eliminar el carril y pensé que era suficiente. Pasaron los días y vi que crecía su afluencia hasta tal punto que parecía como una grieta.
Mi madre me dijo que colocando bicarbonato con azúcar en un plato se iban inmediatamente. ¿Resultado? Ninguno, se burlaron de ella y yo perdí el material.
¿Cómo lo solucioné? Limpiando. Todos los días, hasta dos y tres veces, pasaba vinagre, limpiaba el paño muchas veces e iba descubriendo los puntos donde estaban acumuladas y los fui eliminando.
En unos días ya no tenía el camino y hasta el momento no tengo hormigas, pero no bajo la guardia 😉.
Cleaning mold on clothing
When I did a deep cleaning of the bathroom, I noticed that my mom had these decorations on the toilet lids, and I assume that the humidity caused the mold.
I went online and it said to use baking soda, vinegar, and lemon. That remedy says to rub it and let it sit for half an hour and then wash it.
Result? Worn-out material 🤣. It is clean, because I even washed it with bleach, but the stain doesn't come off (like the song says).
I think the proportion of the ingredients wasn't properly distributed or I didn't let it work long enough. Either way, I'm still trying.
Limpiar el moho en las prendas de ropa
Cuando hice la limpieza profunda del baño, noté que mi mamá tenía estos adornos que están en las tapas del inodoro y asumo que por la humedad creó el moho.
Recurrí a internet y decía que le pusiera bicarbonato, vinagre y limón. Ese remedio dice que lo frotemos y dejemos reposar por media hora y luego lavamos.
¿Resultado? Material gastado 🤣. De que está limpio, lo está porque lo lavé hasta con cloro, pero la mancha no se me cae (como dice la canción).
Creo que la proporción de los ingredientes no estuvo bien distribuida o no lo dejé mucho tiempo hacer su labor. De igual forma, sigo intentándolo.
Cleaning the barbecue grill
This I do consider to be beyond repair. I think it has lost its seasoning layer over time.
At first, I would soak it with dish soap, but it did nothing, it just wasted the product.
Trying to save it because my food comes out awful and sticks to the grill, I saw on my social network that if I put salt on it and left it on the stove, when I washed it, it would come off.
Results?
Well, I even scrubbed it with a wire sponge and NOTHING. The burned layer doesn’t come off and I’m already thinking about replacing it.
Limpiando la plancha de asado
Esto si considero que ya no tiene remedio. Creo que ha perdido su capa de adherencia con el paso del tiempo.
Al principio, lo dejaba remojando con el lavaplatos, pero no le hacía nada, solo malgastaba el producto.
Buscando salvarlo porque mi comida queda horrorosa y se pega todo a la plancha, vi por mi red social que si le colocaba sal y lo dejaba en la hornilla prendida, al lavarlo se le quitaba.
¿Resultados?
Pues, hasta le di con una esponja de alambre y NADA. La capa quemada no se quita y ya estoy pensando en cambiarlo.
Oil stains on clothes
Just like mold, it turns out that a gym shirt got stained with oil and I don't know how. I keep thinking about it and I can't remember how it happened, because since it is white and new, I haven't used it much except for going to work out.
I got to work and looked up that talcum powder could help. I tell you it didn't work.
Then, I tried dish soap and nothing; bleach and nothing; vinegar and baking soda and nothing... The stains are still there and I think now they look more pronounced.
I don't want to throw it away, so once again, if I am doing something wrong, I appreciate your help to save my new shirt.
Manchas de aceite en la ropa
Así como el moho, resulta que una camisa del gym se manchó de aceite y no sé como. Le doy vueltas al asunto y no recuerdo cómo ocurrió, porque como es blanca y nueva, no la he usado mucho sino para ir a entrenar.
Me puse manos a la obra y busqué que con talco se podía aliviar. Les cuento que no sirvió.
Después, coloqué lavavajillas y nada; cloro y nada; vinagre y bicarbonato y nada... Las manchas siguen allí y creo que ahora como más acentuadas.
No quiero botarla, así que una vez más, si algo estoy haciendo mal, agradezco su ayuda para salvar mi franela nueva.
