Me disculpan si cada vez que salgo, hasta cuando compro una cuchara o un alfiler, ¡quiero venir a contárselos! 🤣 Y es que no solo me refiero a la adquisición material, sino el poder compartirlo con una comunidad que me ha ayudado a crecer y desarrollar proyectos en mi hogar, que antes eran impensables; ustedes son una gran motivación, así que ¡GRACIAS!
Resulta que los colchones son como una silla; nadie sabe quién los trajo, pero están allí. Nosotros lo sentimos toda la noche; a veces no nos gusta y no hacemos nada para cambiarlo, solo quejarnos.
Así me pasaba con mi colchón, exactamente como les estoy contando. Sin embargo, mi mamá, que siempre es mi principal señal de alerta para decirme que algo se debe cambiar, comenzó a quejarse de lo incómodo que se había vuelto su colchón. Frases como "amanecí molida" o "no pegué un ojo en toda la noche" cada día eran más frecuentes, por lo que comencé a buscar soluciones.
El primer problema que se presentó fue el factor dinero; obviamente, es una inversión y, como siempre están surgiendo problemas y asuntos que resolver en casa, lo iba dejando "para el otro mes".
Resulta que en noviembre me programé porque siempre ponen "el viernes negro" y dije: "Este es mi momento". Pero noté que (no sé si ocurre en sus países) los comerciantes ofertan un producto en $150 todo el año; ese día los suben a $300 y luego dicen: ¡MITAD DE PRECIO! 🙃Esta situación me tenía ansiosa, por lo que no dormí varios días. No se trata del dinero, sino que en mi caso eran dos, por lo que tenía que ver bien qué compraba y a qué costo.
Otra opción de compra es el popular "CASHEA", que ciertamente me ha ayudado con otros artículos que ya les vendré a presumir 😌, pero sucedía lo mismo que con las ofertas engañosas; en este caso es que aceptan el crédito, o pero a precios muy elevados, en muchas oportunidades, hasta el doble del precio inicial.
Caminé muchas tiendas, tanto conocidas como aquellas que encontraba por el camino. La oferta ergonómica es variada y me llegué a topar con colchones de $1000 😱; algo como hecho de plumas del cisne que nadaba en el río Nilo con Moisés y la hija del faraón 🤣.

However, my mom, who’s always my main warning sign that something needs to change, started complaining about how uncomfortable her mattress had become. Phrases like “I woke up feeling like I’d been run over” or “I didn’t get a wink of sleep all night” became more frequent every day, so I started looking for solutions. The first problem that came up was the cost; obviously, it’s an investment, and since there are always problems and issues to deal with at home, I kept putting it off “until next month.”
It turns out that in November I made a plan because they always have “Black Friday,” and I said, “This is my moment.” But I noticed that (I don’t know if this happens in your countries) retailers offer a product for $150 all year round; on that day, they raise the price to $300 and then say: HALF PRICE! 🙃This situation had me anxious, so I didn’t sleep for several days. It’s not about the money, but in my case, it was two items, so I had to really think about what I was buying and at what cost. Another shopping option is the popular “CASHEA,” which has certainly helped me with other items I’ll show off to you later 😌, but the same thing happened as with the misleading deals; in this case, they accept credit, but at very high prices—often even double the initial price. I walked through many stores, both well-known ones and those I stumbled upon along the way. The selection of ergonomic products is varied, and I even came across mattresses for $1,000 😱; something supposedly made from the feathers of the swan that swam in the Nile River with Moses and the Pharaoh’s daughter 🤣.

Me dirigí a una tienda que tiene muchos años cerca de mi casa y, aunque no es de renombre o no tiene la popular aplicación de crédito, siempre veo que ofrecen ofertas y traen productos variados. Se me olvidaba que ese era otro aspecto importante; las tiendas no están ofreciendo el transporte y yo no podía pagar de más.
I didn't give up, and I saw a post by a user here (I can't find the post now) that mentioned buying a mattress, which helped me make the decision to go get what I needed. I went to a long-standing store near my house, and even though it isn’t well-known or doesn’t have the popular credit app, I always see that they have sales and carry a variety of products. I almost forgot that was another important point: stores aren’t offering delivery, and I couldn’t afford to pay extra.
¡Ahí mi solución! Por un colchón matrimonial de 1 pillow, elaborado en Venezuela, con 8 años de garantía, me estaban cobrando $190. Ahora, si lo pagaba en divisas, el mismo colchón me quedaba por $145. Resulta que este mismo colchón en otras tiendas que visité costaba más de los $200 que me estaban pidiendo y sin rebajas.
There’s my solution! For a double mattress from 1 Pillow, made in Venezuela and backed by an 8-year warranty, they were charging me $190. But if I paid in foreign currency, the same mattress came out to $145. It turns out that this same mattress cost more than the $200 they were asking for—and without any discounts—at other stores I visited.
¡Fue amor a primera vista! Una de las fortalezas que encontré en el colchón fue que lo pregunté en la mañana y ya en la tarde no había, por lo que tuvieron que acudir al almacén a buscar mi mercancía. Incluso, cuando yo estaba comprando, otra señora se estaba llevando 3; quiere decir que son buenos y salen bastante al mercado.
It was love at first sight! One of the things I really liked about the mattress was that I asked about it in the morning, and by the afternoon it was already sold out, so they had to go to the warehouse to get it for me. In fact, while I was buying it, another woman was taking three home; that just goes to show how good they are and how popular they are on the market.
Traerlos fue muy fácil porque mi hermano tenía la camioneta disponible y nos ahorramos el flete. Una vez en casa, sacamos inmediatamente los viejos, agradeciendo su tiempo con nosotras y dando la bienvenida a nuestras nuevas adquisiciones 😍.
Esos días, a finales de noviembre, fue de mucha convulsión y transformación en mi hogar, como les he venido mostrando en estas publicaciones, pero no podía dejar pasar la oportunidad de que parte del cambio no se centró solo en la remodelación o reestructuración de la casa, sino en el mobiliario que necesitábamos para mejorar nuestra calidad de vida.
Bringing them home was really easy because my brother had his truck available, so we saved on shipping costs. Once we got home, we immediately took out the old ones, thanking them for their time with us and welcoming our new additions 😍. Those days, in late November, were full of upheaval and transformation in my home, as I’ve been showing you in these [posts], but I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to highlight that part of the change wasn’t just about remodeling or restructuring the house, but also about the furniture we needed to improve our quality of life.

Es cómodo, suave, resistente, como todo lo nuevo 😊. Honestamente, la inversión valió la pena desde el día uno porque amanezco descansada, siento que hasta tiene mi olor y el de mi casa, no de otras partes (mi colchón anterior venía de parte de mi hermano) y se adapta a todas las sábanas que ya tenía anteriormente. Por cierto, ese es un proyecto de reemplazarlas por unas nuevas y unicolores.
How has the mattress held up? 100/100 It’s comfortable, soft, and durable—just like anything new 😊. Honestly, it was worth the investment from day one because I wake up feeling rested, it even smells like me and my home—not like somewhere else (my old mattress was from my brother)—and it fits all the sheets I already had. By the way, I’m planning to replace them with new, solid-colored ones.
