Estamos en Venezuela pasando por una extraña situación climática. Un día hace un calor insoportable y más tarde cae una tormenta con rayos y truenos.
En Cabudare, lugar donde resido cuando llueve las calles se convierten en ríos arrastrando todo a su paso, muy malo afortunadamente cuando ha llovido ha sido con baja duración porque si llueve con mucha intensidad y por tiempo prolongado, de seguro que los resultados serán catastróficos.
Esas lluvias constantes hacen que se acumule agua en las calles y se formen charcas que se convierten en criaderos de mosquitos o zancudos que cuando pican transmiten enfermedades como el dengue, paludismo o zika.
Recientemente se dañó el aire acondicionado de la sala de mi casa y para combatir el calor abríamos la puerta principal para la circulación del aire natural, pero además de entrar aire, también entraban los mosquitos y las moscas.
Antes usábamos insecticidas aerosoles pero mi hija es alérgica y esto le afecta enormemente. Entonces mi esposa me dijo que comprara los tradicionales espirales Plagatox que existen desde los inicios del mundo.
Ayer pasé por el abasto y recordé el encargo. Una caja de espirales, que ahora son negros, porque los que yo conocía eran verdes, me costó 2 dólares.
La verdad que al usarlos me di cuenta que la plaga se va, el olor es un poco desagradable, pero si cumplen la función, lo soportare gustoso.

In Cabudare, where I live, when it rains, the streets turn into rivers, sweeping away everything in their path. Fortunately, when it has rained, it has been for a short time, because if it rains heavily and for a long time, the results will surely be catastrophic.
These constant rains cause water to accumulate in the streets and form puddles that become breeding grounds for mosquitoes, which transmit diseases such as dengue, malaria, and Zika when they bite.
Recently, the air conditioner in my living room broke down, and to combat the heat, we opened the front door to allow natural air circulation, but in addition to air, mosquitoes and flies also entered.
We used to use aerosol insecticides, but my daughter is allergic and this affects her greatly. So my wife told me to buy the traditional Plagatox coils that have been around since the beginning of time.
Yesterday I stopped by the grocery store and remembered the request. A box of coils, which are now black, because the ones I knew were green, cost me $2.
The truth is that when I used them, I realized that the pests were gone. The smell is a little unpleasant, but if they do the job, I'll gladly put up with it.
